Spot on. Last weekend: 7.6 mpg on track. Normal driving running ~ 17 (majority of my commute in 5-6th on HWY).

I have been averaging about 17.5 mpg (US) for the winter in mixed city and highway driving.

Last November I took a long trip up north and deliberately tried for mileage (cruise control the whole way at ~10% over the speed limit).

I got 26.7 mpg (US) on the winter tires over a distance of 750 km.

Damn I must be lucky...I drove from Houston to Austin (Half tank of gas) then around town (the other half tank of gas) and checked my computer:

16.9 mpg - My sticker when I bought the car said 14 City 20 Highway

And yes, I was laying into it!

Yeah let me know...I didn't buy the car for the gas mileage of course but its nice to kow I'm getting decent mileage compared to most on here it looks like...considering I have a hard time keeping my foot out of the gas pedal

just got the car tuesday,i knew it sucked a lot of gas, this is halfway through my first tank, just driving around town and one quick run on some country roads.so...
it's using even more gas than i thought it would, but you know what?
i don't care-damn this thing is fun,it's a beast.i only drive about 5k a year,so it's not going to make that much difference.my old integra,former dd,only got about 20 mpg in the same conditions.

I hear ya! Funny how everyone calls the e92 a BEAST and that's what it is! I was getting on mine today going to work (only had it like 4 days now) and damn it makes my heart pound...this thing just does not give up! I can't stop thinking about it, I wake up, its on my mind, I got to sleep, its on my mind. I can't wait to come up with an excuse just to drive somewhere...its ridiculous now. Ive owned 4 M3's now and 2 other bmw's and this one makes me feel like Im 16 again! I'm 35 now...so to feel 19 years younger is A W E S O M E

Use to think that driving "quickly" to your cruising speed was efficient and good for mileage, but not sure that's the case with the M3.
