Anyone bought an M3 or any BMW from Sam's club?

I know it sounds crazy/ridiculous. I went to the website and they list BMW (and M3 convertible at that) as one of the cars that a member can get at a discount.

Has anyone had any experience buying an M3 or any BMW through Sam's club?

Thanks,

A

I will meet a Costco rep in my local BMW dealer this week to go over their member-only pricing (they will only show you the sheet in person). I am also having "traditional" negotiations with two other people.

I know it sounds odd to buy a M3 through Costo or Sam's club, but if you google the subject you'll find some reports of good deals being made and quite satisfied costumers. And, so far, a really courteous Costco rep called me a few times to make sure I was receiving adequate attention from the dealer and offering to help in organizing my visit and a test drive. He even gave me a direct number to contact him with any issues. How is that for a free service?

People may make fun of this, but it has the potential to be a good deal, saving me some $$$ without any negotiation. I would say it is at least worth trying as there is essentially nothing to loose.

So, as an update, the Autobahn in Fort Worth said 1% off MSRP through Sam's club. Autobahn is more aggressive. Off the bat he said, 4% off. I going with BMW Dallas. $900 or so over invoice.

So I bought my car today. Costco pricing was $1500 over invoice. Even though I ended up paying less, I think it was really worth checking it because:
- It is a pretty good deal regardless, as you get $1500 over invoice with zero negotiation
- Once you have this price as a starting point, you are in a better shape to negotiate a better deal.

Hope this helps.

interesting. so costco pricing sounds better than sams club. yes, you're right. good to know. knowledge is power.

i think we'll be going with bmw dallas (a few hundred over invoice) or David Aviles (at invoice).

thanks,

not bad but you can get a lot better deals out there then 1500 over invoice. thats pretty cool though that BMW is selling out costco and sams club. wonder how local dealers around that area feel about that.

they laugh it off. At least, if i owned a stealership, i would crack up at the very idea of it.

My local Costco often has a BMW on the floor for purchase from the local BMW dealer across the street. But a smart buyer can usually get a better deal than the standard Costco discount.
