test drove C63 already

Test drove the c63 again , both local and freeway driving and it scared the crap out of me. The torque is insane and the stock exhaust gargles, wheels spin all the time. The legroom in the rear isnt mucn but that doesnt bother me. I feel like used up 50% of the rear tires thread . It kinda out of control all the time when i flat out (say im crazy, i switched off the traction control) . Will think about it for a day and decide which i should go for. Maserati with look but slow , c63 is a rocket with nice interior. Some say c63's interior is poor but i dont think so , most of the part is wrapped by leather, nice stitching and nice seats. Big trunk and it feels solid, comparing to my SL500 thats day and night. I cant imagine merc finally got something similar to m3. Some say that it still doesnt handle as good as m3 but come on, from C55 to C63 merc makes a very big improvement. M3 handles way better in the corner but i drive on straight line more then corners in daily use. I can enjoy the excitement anytime once i hit the pedal instead of only having fun in the corners on the m3. im a bimmer fan but i must say that m3 is slower then c63 in straight line, quiet a lot. M3 doesnt give me the rocket feel and the power only comes when it hits over 4-5k rpm. Anyway C63 is such a beast, 5 seater, comfortable ride, rocket speed, nice DD

excuse my grammer, im not native english speaker, sorry about that.

How did the C63 feel compared to your modified 335i?

The music from the video sounds like something Chris Brown would sing.

i drove the C63, '12 CLS 63 and SL63 at an AMG event and they are no joke. The c63 was the best due to the weight. It was a blast. The SL63 was so tail happy.

I was at that same event. I felt the C63 was the best as well, power just kept on building. SL and E AMG models weren't as fun.

Torque of the Benz is real fun, especially on an N/A powerplant, it really puts you back and extremely responsive.

hm. c63 makes 451bhp. that's easily attained by a 335 with a tune and dp's. plus the 335 is down 350lb in weight. hard for me to imagine a much felt power improvement. atleast not while the 335i is running good.... likely due to the power just being delivered differently I suppose.

To my understanding, chipping the c63 unleashes the full 500 hp.

Driving a stock one... Already an Absolute beast. Ridiculous. I think it may take more then a tune/dp only N54 to take it. They really impress me.

yeah but the sound of a NA 6.3 liter V8 is just incomparable to a straight 6 turbo engine.

a V8 sounds like a V8 there is no mistaking the sound of a V8

Thats why I like my 335d. I get ALL that power, ALL that torque feel. and I get 36+ mpg on the highway!

I couldnt favor a car for sound. I came out of a v8 Audi into my 335i and the v8 growl is nice of course but not a major factor to me

Haha ain't that the truth! If there's one gripe I have about the diesel it's that there is no exhaust note. The engine sound is amazing. very melodious. Sounds great when you punch it and it just makes this nice humming noise when cruising along. Only under hard acceleration is it loud and at idle it's very quiet. only at low speeds does it ever clack like a diesel. Trust me it's not like the diesel's we are used to.

But hey who wants a droning exhaust on a multi hour long road trip?

My second gripe about the diesel is that you get all that juicey torque downlow. after 3300 rpm it falls off then the horsepower hits at 4k rpm to about 4200 which feels weak compared to that wallop of torque. if you let it go to 5k it just kind of falls off so there is no point of hitting redline. Unlike a gasser that pulls and pulls all the way till redline.

its a different feeling one has to get used to.

The steering is not as precise but the 6.2 is one of the all time great engines.. you basically buy the car for the motor..

True, that older E-class chassis wasn't very stiff, and the electronics had a lot of issues. It was the worst Mercedes for Quality Control when it first came out.

I imagine the new CLS (soon) will be a lot better.

The most fun car I've driven was a V8 Audi S4, the all-wheel drive contributes much to it's driveability.
