Leaving to Munich for ED right now!!! (Update!!!)
Question for those who have done this recently. I know there is a dropoff point at the Munich airport. It's the Loginout I believe it's called. How do I drop off the car? Do I need to make a appointment? Does it close at a certain time? Is it easy? And advice would be appreciated.
On another note, I'm really excited now. My flight leaves at 11:05pm. Picking up my E92!!!! Last edited by NFAM3; 06-22-2011 at 03:58 PM.. Reason: Update |

When you pick your car up at the Welt, ask the customer service reps there about the times that LogInOut is open. I would suggest you also have them schedule a drop off time for you so that everything is ready for you to drop off.

Loginlogout is at the airport. Very easy to get to and they will give you directions at the Welt. No need to make an appointment. Not sure about hours.

Log In/Out is in the center of the airport right next to the Kempinski hotel. You should have an appointment so they can have the paperwork done but probably not absolutely essential. Email them at drop-off-munich@loginout.de or phone them from the Welt.
There is also an Agip gas station at the airport entrance (follow the signs) that has plenty of wash bays so you don't have to leave all the bugs and grime on the car. Here's the info Log-In/Out emails (all the papers they need are given to you at the Welt, except the passport of course): We are open Monday thru Friday 08:30am to 04:30pm and Saturday 10:00am to 02:00pm except Sundays and all legal German holidays. For drop-off , please bring your passport and all documents provided by BMW. • Original Purchase Order • Original International Registration (Green) • Original Insurance Attached to Registration (Yellow) • Original Confirmation of Registration (green) • Original confirmation of Insurance (white) • Original Data Confirmation (white) • Passport If nothing is missing, the drop-off procedure and paperwork will take around 30 minutes. Please ensure there are no personal belongings including the warning triangle, first aid kit, the IPod Adapter and any electronic devices left in the car. There aren’t any loose items allowed in the car during shipment according to the shipment regulations. The tank shouldn't be filled more than 1/3 of the volume. On your arrival at the airport please be sure, to look for a ‘Log In Out drop off’ plate. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us again. Mit freundlichen Grüssen, best regards, cordialement Kathrin Gaugele Drop-Off Agent LOG IN OUT GmbH - Airport Munich Terminalstrasse Mitte 20 85356 München |

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I'll make this really quick since it's from my phone. I'll do a whole write up when I get home and post pictures. I'm still here in Europe. I'm currently in Salzburg. The car is awesome. I love it. I picked it up on the 18th and currently has about 700 miles on it. It's drives amazing. The Welt experience was fantastic. The employees there really make you feel at home. Now, it might be just me but everybody else over here is just plain rude. But whatever. This trip was for the car and it's awesome. Where else can you pass a cop at 140 and it be legal? The Autobahn. Driving in the city is a little scary though. Small roads and people here drive like maniacs. Tomorrow I go back to Munich for my last night. Dropping off my car at Loginout. I called to set up a appointment but I guess tomorrow is a holiday. The nice lady I spoke to though said she would meet me there even though they are closed so I can drop off my car. So maybe not everyone is rude. I did run into some that went out of their way for me. So I'll drop my baby off tomorrow, stay at the Kepinski hotel, and fly back to Miami on Friday. Ill miss her the next 6 to 8 weeks while she gets shipped over. But the good news is, I have some gifts for her when she gets in thanks to Nate and Andrew over at IND and thanks to Ben and Carlos at Wheels Boutique. I'll elaborate my story when I get in and include pictures. Oh, I saw the new M5 on the street in Munich. It still had small pieces of the black and white wrap they put on it. That was neat too. Gotta go.

Just scheduled ED pickup on 7/29 in Welt. My first and suggestions are welcome! How do I schedule the "Ring"? What about Loginout? Are they opened on weekends?
Thanks! |

For the ring check this schedule for touristfahrten http://nurburgring.org.uk/calendar.php it looks like it is open for at least part of the day after your delivery. At an open time just show up. Be warned that this schedule has been incorrect for at least one person on this board, but I think it's your best bet.
For loginout I believe you need to schedule a week in advance, although I have heard of people just showing up and being taken care of. I think they are normally closed on the weekend but will open on a saturday if you schedule it with them. Have fun!

Look right above at post number 6 for Log In/Out info. Also, I recommend you study the ED Wikipedia, lots of info there.

Thanks everyone. Any suggestion on hotels around the area? Seems like there are quite many choices. I'm looking for something convenience/reasonable and doesn't charge EUR25 a day for parking and internet...
Hmmm how about authentic Germany meals & places to travel for two/three days. |
