I picked up my first BMW ('23 X3) and my name had a small error in it - my genius told me that I'd need to call or contact BMW to change it, but that's not the case. This was impacting how my name was displayed in my driver profile, the My BMW app, etc.
If your name is misspelled, lowercase, uppercase, or something is wrong with it:
- Download the BMW Driver's Guide app
- Sign in with your account
- Navigate to the account section
- Edit your name and save
This change reflected in the My BMW app in about 30 seconds.
I learned this when I came across a post from 2022 where user CVRVV on the i4 forums
here shared this info. I wanted to post it here for extra visibility, since it seems like such an easy thing to have happen and I had to search a bit to find out how. Kinda surprised that name is not an editable field in the My BMW app. Cheers!
