Track Day at Queensland raceway March 28

Hi Everyone

TRACK DAY TODAY!

There are 11 spots available, so if you decide to come the day will be sensational. Weather is looking good and there are some great cars turning up.

There is 1 space available for advanced training with race driver David Russell
and driver training included with Doug Chapple.

You will be made welcome if you just want to come along for a sticky and a chat, and chance to look over some of the cars. Start of the event is at 11am for registration, drive and track brief with Doug, park up in the pits, a bit of lunch and on the track at around 1pm

Cost is $175.00

Check my FB page ( link below) or call (0434 555 660) or email me (david@gintani.com.au) to reserve a spot or give me a call for any further info.

How are numbers going? I can make this one now, O/s vacation is called off, just too many other things on lately.

I saw Darryl's LV10 two weekends ago at park road. Is he coming out again?

7 spots left, but Dave Russell (from the Lambo team) called the other day and wants more spots, so there are only a few left.

Daryl is also locked in.

It would be REALLY nice to see more of the guys from this forum coming along, I think you could safely say that anyone who came had a great experience and it's really good value for the money. If we get the full 32 it will only be $150 per head including passenger rides and driver training.

If any of you out there are thinking about it now is the time to step up. I know there are a few new owners coming along this time which is really good.... and remember... there is no profit in this, it's just a good day out for all ... and the day only reinforces just what an awesome machine the M3 is

As Doug Chapple said its one of the only cars you can drive out there in extreme comfort and has all the trimmings of a luxury daily drive and it transforms on the track.

Really looking forward to this Dave. I can't stress how much I appreciate you organising this and not charging anything for doing so, I can only imagine the time involved..

I had great fun on the last day, was an absolute blast. QR is a great facility that's perfect if you haven't got any track experience. There's no pressure to push harder than you're comfortable with and the track is so wide with nice run off areas just in case you do have an off (not that anyone even got close at our last day).

Tracking my car taught me so much about driving in just a few hours. I learnt that the limit of grip far exceeded my expectations and the ease of correction once you push too far was really quite amazing. It gives me much more confidence on the road should I ever need to swerve around someone who's pulled out in front of me etc.

Highly recommend it if you're not entirely sure. Be prepared though, you will get hooked!

Any videos from the previous track day David ? that perhaps you can upload. Good to show folks how safe and enjoyable Queensland raceway is.

Thanks Koastal Great idea but I don't have any from last time. This time however there will be 3 photographers and 2 videographers . The guys from Downshift will be covering the event. Doug Chapple and Dave Russell will be doing training and there are plenty of spots left.

You are exactly right about the track, Willowbank is chosen because it has a lot of room for error unlike Lakeside and is therefore recommended by QR for this type of event

Here is a professional video showing the track (I've posted this before) showing how the pros do it, but frankly after coming off the the track the drive home doesn't feel nearly as safe as the day on the track. The day is primarily for non competitive, introductory to track driving and is intended for anyone who would like to see what their car can do within their own personal limits. On the other hand I've spoken to professional drivers who love days like this so they can test their cars and have a relaxing day without any pressure.

Expect to see some great cars there

Hope to see you there again

Nice video, Richie in his GTR isn't coming tomorrow but Dave Russel might have one there!

Nice lap, looks like 1:01 which is one of the better times I've seen for a modded 135? I use harry's lap timer too, but your speeds seem more accurate and faster to update than what I get... Do you plug it into the OBD or is that purely from GPS?

Are you coming tomorrow too?

My pleasure, and it was a sensational day, lots of photos and vids to follow, and I think a good format for future events. Not one incident, only good memories of the day,,, A huge thanks to Queensland Raceway, Doug Chapple and Dave Russell for making today as good as a track day can be
