Stud Conversion ? Pros / Cons?
I've but found no pro/ cons list....
Are there any other benefits of Stud conversion besides convenience for swapping wheels and partially fitting spacers without getting extended lugs? I understand that the studs are a ware item... but wouldn't hanging and sliding your wheels on these studs risk in stripping the studs itself even sooner? Is this a must or just a novelty item? I personally don't have problem with my stock/ extended lugs...

When I had them, I loved them. Never had any issues with the threads on the studs wearing. I'm back to lugs now that I'm not tracking my E90. I did buy the extended lugs from Turner so I can continue to use my spacers.
One weird thing I've found is some tire shops are reticent to work on cars with studs, stating liability concerns. Anytime I had new tires mounted, I had to put the car up on jack stands in the garage and drive the truck over with the wheels & new tires to get them swapped. PITA.

They also move the lug out away from the wheel and saves from scratches without need for longer sockets. Overall it makes life a lot easier and painless for frequent wheel changes
Here's a pic of mine. You can see what I mean.

I have been told that OEM lugs stretch and need to be replaced MORE often than studs which is one of the reasons to use studs.

On the front wheels you have to hold the wheel up to line up the holes.
The rears are easy with Lugs, place wheel on hub, turn wheel to line up slots. |
