Navigation DVD versions
Hey guys i wanted to point out for everyone to check what version you guys got for your Navigation DVD. Some dealers are trying to pass on 2007.2 DVDs instead of the 2008.1 that you should be getting. My dealer did this and I will be going back today to ask for a change.
The new version came out 2-3 weeks ago so if you recently took delivery and see that you have a 2007.2 version go back to your dealer and demand the 2008.1 that should have came with delivery. If you dont ask for the right version you might get a offer in the mail to update to 2008.1 for $199, this is pretty much legal theft if they do that because they are just reselling back what you should have got in the first place. p.s. Jason, keep this thread in the general area for a bit so everyone can see, not too many check the Navi section as much as general.

Sure enough, 2007-2. Ugh. Same thing happened to me with my 335, although that was even more of a debacle because the older disc prevented RTTI from working. |

Damn mine is 2007.2 ... What exactly are you all saying to your dealers in order to get the new dvd? I can only imagine how they are going to twist this around on me so that I can't have the 2008 version...

Im going in a hour to pick up my plates and to get the new version.
I knew something was sketchy and shady when my CA removed the plastic wrapped packet with the DVD navi when i went to see my car the day it arrived. I opened the trunk and he was like "o, i need to take this" I didnt think much of it before but now i know the reason he took it, so he can get the 2008.1 version!

Tell them that the new version was released 2-3 weeks ago, you are entitled to the newest copy since you took delivery after the new version release. They cant deny you the new version.

The Map DVD version inclusion go by car production date and not delivery date, so I would advice to ease the "entitled" attitude and just politely ask for a courtesy update, like asking for floormats. That should work better... |

Im pretty sure my CA swapped DVDs, why other reason would he take my plastic wrapped binder with the Navi DVD inside and on delivery date its opened and low and behold its a 2007.2 version. Not cool.

My dealer's insistent that they don't have 2008-1 and I'm not entitled to it. I should probably fight, but I don't know, I guess it's not really worth getting into a pissing contest with my CA over. Can't imagine much has changed in six months.

Check out this list of updated areas, some of us will likely find they have no use for 2008-1 whatsoever anyway. |

Its whatever nav disk version they have available at the factory. Its not the dealer, its BMW AG. They will just tell you that the 2008.1 version was not available (to them) when you're car was built.
