Post CPO Question

I purchased a 2011 M3 from a so cal dealer about a year and a half ago. It was advertised as a CPO car.

However, going thru my receipts, to verify the extended warranty period, I can not find any documentation indicating that was sold as a CPO vehicle.

Any suggestions as to how to find out the exact date that all the warranties will expire?

I never received any paperwork from BMW indicating warranty period.

Thanks!

Call BMWNA and provide them your VIN number (or any BMW dealer can take your VIN and tell you the warranty status).

I figure I'll ask my cpo question also instead of making another thread. I just purchased a CPO 2011 m3 from a private seller and was wondering if I needed to compete any paperwork to transfer the cpo warranty to me.

Does the seller have proof that it is a CPO car?

If so, what documents?

Call any bmw service and ask them to run the VIN.
They should be able to tell you if the car is CPO or not and they can provide the dates.

Just panicked a little reading some of the possible failures regarding bearings.

I want to have my oil quaility ckecked by Blackstone.. I have started hearing the dreaded clicking sound at idle in my garage. (warm engine)

Don't confuse ticking w/ a light knocking lower end. These cars (as all M cars do) sound like sewing machines when running fine. Ticking is normal, knocking is bad. Rythmic ticking/knocking no good either.

Well originally i thought it was the fuel injectors or just normal machine noises.

But after reading a few post's and listening to some sound bytes from video's, i am not sure what i hear!

I will have the oil checked for minerals and go from there.

Thanks again for the reply's.

The car is a CPO vehicle! Original warranty expires 12/31/2014.
According to the SA, the CPO warranty carries it for an additional 2 years or 50K miles.

Thanks for the advice....

Lucky! I bought mine CPO thinking it was an additional 2 years or 50k miles (like my last M3). I just found out it is "CPO Elite" which is only year 5 or till 75k miles. Disappointing...
