CCW LM20's on an E92

Hey guys,

Hope everyone's Thursday is off to a good start.
I'm about to pull the trigger on some CCW LM20's. I've searched and searched for pictures of these wheels on an E92 - they are nowhere to be found.

I love the wheels to death, however, there is much talk about how these rims don't look the best on the E92 body. A lot of that has to do with the 18" size, which is the largest offered by CCW for this particular rim.

I will NOT being running coils. I will be on H&R sport springs.

Here are a few pictures of cars on the boards with CCW Classics.
The LM20 has a thinner spoke design and larger lip.

What are everyone's thoughts?

i love CCWs as a whole (even on the E92), but i think they definitely do look small unless you're dropped like the cars pictured above. i'm not sure if H&R (sport) springs alone will achieve that effect, honestly.

is there any particular reason you want to stay away from coils? would you consider a more aggressive drop with different springs?

I would get the classics much better, the lm20s are nice but I wasn't impressed when I saw them in person but it could have just been the car it was on

i agree 100% with this.
i want to stay away from coils bc i won't be tracking the car. don't need to spend the extra cash for an aggressive stance alone.

however, i definitely would drop lower if needed.
any other suggestions on springs without sacrificing too much OEM ride?

totally understandable!

RD sport springs are definitely the lowest drop you can get without sacrificing too much of the OEM ride - pairing these with E36 bump stops may assist in keeping the ride relatively "cushy" despite the lowering. here are some photos of RD sports under some HRE P40s (20"):





I had some H&R race springs on mine before I went the coilover route - the drop was nice, but if I had opted to stay with springs, I would choose RD without question.

In order to pull off CCW's on an E92 you need coils.
The AW on CCW's that the OP posted in on Ground Control coils.

I think the RDs ride better compared to the H&R. As far as being "enough" it's tough to say but if I had to guess there would still be a gap between fender/tire assuming you run a 35 profile tire (as in your 2nd posted photo).

However, the white coupe sits (subjectively) perfect on those GC coils. Is that more of the look you want to achieve? If that's the case, coilovers definitely seem the route to pursue. I can't say I'm an advocate for this, but I do recall a SG M3 on LMs with cut springs posting photos awhile ago (it achieves the effect, but please don't do this). Here are a few photos of my car for further drop reference. After the suspension settled a bit in my car, I am a tad lower than these photos, though not fully wound down on KW Clubsports.

they Are sweet Wheels, I had LM20's on my Evo I loved them... You will need to be lower then springs allow..
