oil level at 8k miles...

My oil level has not dopped at all since 1200 mile service....i frequently hit the 8400 rpm but not sure if the 90%+ mostly highway daily driving has any impact....anyone else NOT added any oil since 1200 miles..??

also are you guys changing oil at the halfway mark before the 15k service ...I think I will have the oil changed at 8.5k...it has only been 6 months since the 1200 mile service though but cannot see waiting until 15k....

Oil changed at 1000 and at 7500. 1 track day, 1 auto X day. Before and after every oil change the oil level indicator was on the top mark, and still is at 9000 miles. Never added any. I have never seen the indicator be anywhere other than the top mark.

I only know mine didn't drop at all from full in 1,450 miles, but will have to wait a lot longer to find out if it consumes oil after that. I'm at 1,700 right now, after 3 months of ownership. This car is a lot less oil thirsty than E46 M3s for sure .

I think it's so lame how we don't get the dipstick. After all these years the E90 has been out I still can't believe it lol.

Added 1 qt at 5,400 miles. 10w60 Castrol that SA gave me. They like to top it off for no charge when necessary. Just turned 8K on it now. Thinking about changing it around now. Seems like some say to do so around 7.5K. Opinions???

1200 service, +1 quart at 3,500 miles.

indicator was stuck at half for about 2,000 miles then dropped to needing +1 on a 100 mile roadtrip.

I haven't needed to fill either. This doesn't surprise me though. Neither of 2 my previous ///M3's burned through oil.

I had my oil changed at about 7K or so, and I'm just about at 15K now. I had to add 1qt at 13K, and it's the only time I've ever added oil.

Wait im confused, is it lame that we have to do less work? or that we constantly know how much oil is in the car?

I never added oil between the 1200 mi service and when I changed my oil at 8k miles. I'm at about 13k miles now and never had to add oil.

Exact same story with mine, but it was after a 200 mile trip, hitting triple digits for a lot of it. Topped 140 MPH (with the top down) since then, and typical low triple digit speeds when possible, with the level not moving

This top speed above was on the A9 Autobahn before you bash for hitting these speeds. I would never do this in the states.

so true, if someone can find a way to retrofit a dipstick onto the motor somehow ... i'm sure it would sell pretty well
