Individual Interior - Rust Brown, Champagne, Platinum or Cohiba Brown- is $4025 MSRP/$3675 Invoice. Includes the Extended Leather (under dash and center console) with the addition of the backside of the front seats in leather as well. Requires iDrive.

Stiching, color coded parts/trim (shifter/iDrive controller trim, iDrive/climate control trim and center console area under armrest and rear vents), bicolor combinations and Individual dash trims (Piano Black for example) are extra, and cost in the thousands. Full leather (lower section of the doors in leather and color coded) seems not to be available in the USA due to certification issues.

But I only want a car with regular extended black novillo leather and regular carbon leather trim. The only difference is red stitching instead of black. I would assume I don't need to pay for those other colored interiors.

No, my post is descriptive of what Individual will charge for their specific interior selections and not the posted $7000 price. Stitching alone is around $2000; somehow the supplier has to remove the standard stitching thread color from the already-made seat covers (instead of just changing the damn roll of thread at the time of sewing the cover for the first time) and do it again it with the new thread color.

That's the reason of the absurdly high price, or so Individual says.

So it is only 2000 total to get the stitching as opposed to the 4025 mentioned in the beginning of your post?

Yes, as stated before I was correcting the $7000 price quoted before for an Individual-specific interior and not for a stitching-only option in an standard M3 interior.

My suggestion is to contact Individual directly for the exact stitching-only price.

I was told by Ryan at steve thomas that he thought the red stitching on black leather would cost me around $6,300.

I was also given a quote of $6300 from a reputable dealer on the forum for Black Novillo with "contrast stitching".

i can tell you for a fact that the price for individual stitching is closer to 2000 US dollars. I was quoted this price directly from the head of BMW Individual for North America and Canada. Hope that helps.

The reason of the emphasis on contacting M Individual directly is not trivial... it is not unusual for an US dealer to receive the wrong quote for an Individual option as the request is thru BMWNA. Somehow they keep adding Individual codes together without really understanding what the customer really requested.

So it is no concidence that $4025 (Individual interior) plus some $2225 (Individual stitching) MSRP be added together to result in an $6300 charge when that was not the actual request.

Mind you....after all's said and done (and you've forked out this ridiculous amount of money in some cases), you get exactly "the look" that you want. Yash, you'll soon forget how much you paid and appreciate that you made the right decision everytime time you open the door and get inside!!

The problem is that the M3 was US certified with Novillo leather so Individual cannot use Nappa.

I tried Cinnamon Nappa and it was rejected unless I opted for dyeing a Novillo hide at some hideous cost.

not only for the thread, someone has to do the stitching, unless you have it done in Mexico might be a bit cheaper then
