My E92 is a DD because it is such a mood lifter. Occasionally rent cars for longer trips in the state, especially in the coal mine areas where the trucks constantly throw rocks/coal chunks. My E46 paint took a beating - literally no paint chips at purchase (2005 bought in 2009) and was littered when I sold it.
Also love the sound of the performance exhaust in the parking garage (reserved parking spot next to column and nobody on the other side). |

Daily driver for me, 60 miles round trip. Most peeps just think it is a silver BMW sedan, but those who know what it is can appreciate it. Everyone in the neighborhood and at work knows I'm obsessed with cars anyway.

Hell Yes! It gets me up in the morning and something to look forward to around 6pm. While I'd love to have a "beater" to drive to work, I think I'd only truly be happy if the beater was another type of M3.

I'm on the hunt for an e9x M3, but I will definitely have to drive a beater to work. I get enough shit from people about my clothes or when I drive my wife's 328i to work. |

I do. Since my boss knows that I drive an M3 and am a car enthusiast, we often talk about cars, which helps ease up some tensions at work sometimes. But most of my coworkers don't know I drive an M3 since I cover it up at work everyday, to avoid UV damage.
OP, I'd say drive it, enjoy it, and be proud of it! |

They ask me what an M3 is and how it differs from a regular 3 and I just tell them my car is a 3 on steriods and they understand. |

So, mine's going in for some repairs at the end of the month (under warranty, thankfully), and I was griping yesterday to a coworker about it (he's got an NC Miata). Amazing how quickly all the problems and concerns that can come with owning a car like this drifted away from my mind as soon as I planted the throttle and swung it around that first corner! "It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up." |

There was definitely some trepidation when i first drove the M3 to work since I know people will be making snark comments. But i didn't buy a M3 so i could just look at it and not drive it
I know people will think wow he must be making a lot of money here when in fact i don't. I'm just financially responsible with a dual income and i budgeted so i could buy the M

Yes, I drive my M3 to work everyday...I earned it and bought it, who's to say I can't enjoy it?! However, recently a couple of managers, not mine, came up to me and asked me...how the hell are you driving a M3 and I'm in a 328i or 335i?! Haha I'm cool with them though...

I'm retired but when I see some guy in a Tercel with a pissed off look on his face cutting me off in traffic on his way to work, I can see the jealousy and contempt. Why is that unshaven t-shirt wearing guy driving that car and I'm driving a Toyota? There's only one thing to do. Hit the M button and blast by the guy with reckless abandon. See ya! Wouldn't wanna be ya!
Not that here's anything wrong with a Toyota! Last edited by 4corners; 01-22-2013 at 12:17 PM.. |

Drive it everyday to work. Bought it to drive it, don't care what others think. I am no different than someone driving a Honda civic, a person is a person and how people spend there money is not of my concern. If I wanted a Bugatti Veyron rather than buying a private island in the Carribean, then I would do that even though Bob over there thinks I am stupid for doing that.

LOL @ this thread.
Take off the tin foil hats guys, its just an M3. As much as you would like to think, not everyone is looking and talking about you. Most people see it as just another BMW. Get over yourselves. |

Good thread. I have my own business and visit clients - construction.
Car of choice: toyota prius. Saves gas, and avoids any possible conflicts that may rise from a BMW. I've experienced many comments, much better to stick to a low key car for selling. |
