Florida Laws - Dash Cams and Radar Detectors?
Waiting on my new baby and looking into functional mods etc for her. Does anyone know what the law is for radar detectors and dash cams in south florida?
If allowed, what do people recommend for their M3's and does anyone know a shop in the area that installs? Thanks! |

As far as radar detectors go, im pretty sure there is no law against it (not 100% sure). Ive been running my valentine 1 for many years now and have never had a problem at all. Im sure there is something better on the market by now
I had Active Autowerke hardwire mine for me when they were installing all of my bolt ons to my e46 |

Almost certain there's no law prohibiting dash cams..I would recommend Blackvue DR400G-HD or whatever the latest one is..not great, but pretty good.

Just as JR said not 100% sure but I've been running a valentine 1 for several years on both of my ///m's and audi too. Passed by cops handfull of times with the thing beeping and they just glanced over...
The new escort has tons of functionality up to date, although the v1 is said to have one of the strongest signals, the escort can give you voice alerts, and if you update it every 2 months or so, they have a database which has several key points. One being, redlight camera positioning, it uses its own gps signal and alerts you when your passing a light that has a camera, which is very usefull IMO.

Is there a link for the one that you recommend? Is it passport max? https://www.escortradar.com/passportmax/ It looks pretty awesome. So it basically just requires you put in on your dash? no installation or anything necessary? Last edited by calscooby; 07-03-2013 at 09:31 AM.. Reason: addition of link |

FL is pretty much wide open legally. Radar detectors, Laser Interceptors, Dash cams, 28%F/15%R tints, Superchargers, Catless exhausts (ok not technically...), unlimited firearms, 30 round magazines, kitchen sinks, etc... all legal in our vehicles here.
