yeah, i've seen that before. It's gotta be murder on the paint job. I mean really, not even clear bra will protect against that!

Probably doesn't do much for your paintwork 'though.

In the recent heatwave in the UK, I was tailgated extremely closely by an Audi cabriolet. For some reason I chose that moment to wash my windscreen. There wasn't much overspray, but there was enough.

If you see an Audi driver in the UK with the top down and an umbrella on the passenger seat, that's probably him!

Heh. When someone tail gates me, I usually hit my brakes a little to try and get them to back off. If they don't, I plan the stop and start game. Hit my brakes, let off, hit my brakes, let off, hit my brakes, let off. It's fun stuff. Someone did that to me once and that's where I got it from. Okay, now I'll stop acting childish.

Not to mention the gas mileage.

If you have the xenons, turn your lights on & just turn on your windscreen washers for a second or so.
The headlight washer jets' overspray flies onto cars behind you a good 20ft away, at least.

I use it to if anyone tailgates me, especially the 'white van' brigade.

They never do it a second time after I 'powerwash' them!

A safer alternative to hitting the brakes (during the day), is to turn your headlights on and off a few times. If that doesn't work, then wash the windshield. Here in Tampa tailgating is the norm!

That "white van" brigade wouldn't by chance be the guys with E-C-I-L-O-P written across the bonnet, would they?
