I am certain that depending on the x-pipe configuration (with HFCs/without) the sound will vary greatly.
I can tell from very recent experience that my perf exhaust paired with the Gintani catless x-pipe results in tremendous rasp and loudness. The HP gain is very noticeable, but I'm not exactly happy being this loud/raspy. I mean it scares a lot of folks on the road especially upon downshifts/blips. I am probably going back to the stock rear section to help tone her down a bit.

That's an insanely ridiculous price! I paid $2,300 installed & out-the-door with Steve Thomas BMW!

Exactly the same happened to me when I had my MPE, I try to pair it with a Challenge Street x-pipe and later with a Borla x-pipe and both sounded extremely raspy. I ended up selling it and purchased an akra evo system.

I'm a new member here and my car is a 08 E90 M3. I'm currently looking into modifying the exhaust, and the Performance Exhaust and Akrapovic Slip-on are the two finalists.

Did you guys end up doing the comparison of the two systems? I have tried to find the video clip but no luck.

Nope. Didn't end up doing it. If you're in LA and want to give my exhaust a listen, I'd be happy to have you by.

No issues that I can tell so far. How did you tell that the canisters were cracked?

FYI, the cracks are very easy to fix.

How’s this compare to the OEM exhaust mod? I just purchased a 2013 M3 E92 ZCP and looking to do some more mods.

I’ve had my cracks welded once. Cracked again. Any trick to ensuring a good repair?
Otherwise I’d consider selling it
