Blackberry Error?

Ok so my Blackberry stopped working in mid August. I was sent a warranty exchange and recieved my second Blackberry on August 29. TODAY MY NEW BLACKBERRY STOPPED WORKING! I took the battery out and when it turns on it doesnt load and just says JVM Error 545 and it wont turn off at all. I had to take the battery out to turn it off.

What gets me is my first phone was dropped multiple times and worked fine for many months until a ladder fell on it. My second BB that I've had 3 weeks I treated like a princess and it stops working?

I am being sent a third BB and should have it in 5 days. Has anyone else had this problem with Blackberries?

which blackberry do you have? i've had my curve for almost a year without any errors. i also don't drop, sling, crush, etc. my phones though. also, when you send in for warranty they send you back refurbished phones and who knows what the story behind that phone is. when i had my 8800, i had a summer of accidentally swimming with my phone (lake + beer does that sometimes) a few times. then i'd just dry it out in an air vent overnight and send it in for "warranty." you just never know!

The US gets the seconds from the BB assembly line. We keep the good ones in Canada.

my blackberry gets a sim card error quite often the past few weeks if i drop it too hard on the table or if it falls on the ground. It works fine after I turn it off and back on. Other than that i havent gotten any other error messages. You may want to try swapping out your sim card for a new one if you have att or tmobile

My 8700 has worked flawlessly.

Perhaps it's a moisture issue relating to post #2.

Mine is working fine too. I even dropped my first Pearl in an open fire and it still works. Its slightly melted, but it works. Seems that Sara has just had some bad luck

The error you are referring to is pretty common on some of the refurb units that are shipped out by XBM. The only thing you can really do is to get it replaced again. If you are having troubles with an exchange unit they should be able to send you the other one overnight.

What company are you with?

Yeah I was talking with the Verizon guys I work with and they tell me that a refurbished phone is like buying a used car. "Youre getting somebody else's problem" and well yeah it turned out to be a big one. Soon as I get to where Im going Im purchasing a new phone that way I have no worries about the "new used thats coming" letting me down.

Soon as I make my first trillion that is.

Post here with your model and issue. Folks on that site know a hell of a lot more about the BB's than I.

You may need to wipe the phone and install the latest OS. I know a few folks who had issues with a refurb. I sent them this route and never heard anything negative back - that's not saying it fixed it for sure.

I work for AT&T but I have seen issues like that before even on brand new blackberries. It is more frequent in the refurbs that are sent out as warranty replacements but the best way is to just get another model.

Why does it take them 5 days to send you out another phone? I am sure that they have an expedited route and they should waive the shipping fees for you due to your circumstances.
