Well I do have edc, so I'll just have to find out myself how the ride quality will be like afterwards. Is there anyone with the kw sleeve over kit who can give their opinion about it? Pros and cons?

RD springs work with EDC!
Just like EVERY other spring kit. I hate uninformed posts/suggestions. I have RD springs w/e36 bumpstops with EDC. Also, OP most vendors are going to suggest to you the more expensive part, just because they tend to make more money off it. I've noticed this trend on the forums.

when did i say springs aren't compatible w/ edc, let alone the rd's?? smh...
wut i meant is, if op has edc get the kw s/o n if he doesn't then get rd springs. the only explanation i hav 2 pick s/o over rd is cuz of adjustability.

I just installed the KW coil over sleeve kit and it feels great, no bouncing at all, much better handling and the lower stance makes it look so aggressive though it is not at the lowest drop since I didnt want to have any rubbing issues, I still have a couple of turns to max low, took a couple of iphone pics tonight after picking it up from AA (sorry for poor quality pics), added some more pics taken at daylight

KW has access to some very advanced (and expensive) testing equipment. I personally trust KW to engineer a sound suspension with regard to spring length/travel, appropriate spring rate for the M3 dampers, etc...
I feel that you'll experience a better overall ride quality with KW's product, along with adjustable height.

Do you think that you will ever consider coilovers? Because if you do, then the springs would be obsolete and with KWs being 2.5x the price would be more wasteful. Sort of like an economic look.

Think I'm going to go with the KW sleeves as well. I notice that some of the spring kits show a little more gap in the front than the back. Not a lot but it would drive me crazy. Also, after dropping money for an M3 it seems foolish to risk not being satisfied with the way it rides and looks to save $400.

i dont mean to jack your thread by any means. But i am in the same boat. I want a lowered ride, but dont want that bounce for 3 seconds after you hit a bump. Any sponsors here can PM me a price on both rd springs, as well as sleeve kit. Again, I apologize if I took the focus off your thread, but I am in your shoes. Lets hope we find the right kit!

I'm thinking of getting the KWs. I have EDC and am about to fit my 18mm and 15mm spacers (standard 19 inch rims). Anyone else got KW sleeve overs with spacers? Any issues?

I was running 15MM spacers with my KW Sleeve kit and 19" HRE's while I was waiting for my new wheels. No issues, if anything the spacers will give you a bit more clearance between the adjustment ring on the Sleeve kit and the wheel/tire.

There's lots of good information in this thread. I don't think I'd sacrifice the ride of my stock M3 with just springs (I also DD my car though). If I did anything it would be KW S/0 or KW V3s.

I tried a couple springs setup before going with KW sleeves, by are KW has been the best setup i had. the car feel very planted and not floaty or to stiff like my 2 other setup
1. RDsports - it was just to stiff 2. H&R springs - car feels floaty and unplanted 3. KW Sleeves - feels planted and handles alot better then OEM setup.

My E46 has TEIN SS coilovers on them and once I set the ride height to my liking I NEVER touched them again in 6 years of usage.

This is RD Sport springs after one year of use. It sits low but good enough to still have clearance on certain angles. The ride is subjective and relative to the road surface, so I don't tend to go by other's words unless you have a first hand account. Go to meets and ask others if you can take a ride and see how you like their setup.

I like the idea of being able to adjust the drop so if I were to go with KW's, what is the optimal drop on a non competion M3 (2008 model) for best handling and strut longivity?
Cheers, RB |
