I heard the GTR requires change of fluids every 2k kms? is this true? I have a friend who traded his brand new GTR for a GT3 here in Manila for that reason.

Very interesting.
How many dealerships tell owners of cars that are no longer under warranty that they need service or this or that done when they really don't?
The few people that might deceive a dealer into where they were when something failed would not even come close to the amount the dealers have deceived their customers into buying parts/service their cars didn't need either.

But track or not, all the owner needs to say is, "I was on a one way street when I heard this noise and then suddenly the car stopped and I had to pull off the road into the dirt and embarrassingly watch as all these other cars drove by. Then luckily I was able to flag down a tow truck to tow me to the closest gas station since my cell phone died. I totally forgot about the SOS button that's why I called BMW from a pay phone."

There you never lied you just didn't tell them the one way road was a private one that allows you to drive as fast as you want.

What I am saying is that not many people would go to a dealer and admit doing something that voids the warranty. And in BMW's case, they are encouraging driving schools, track days, and such.

I am also saying that you aren't hearing of BMW denying warranty claims.

I am also saying that I have never heard of a car manufacturer going to the extremes Nissan is to void warranties and bump service costs.

That car withstood a hundred launches? That doesn't sound bad at all, I wouldn't expect BMW's SMG or DCT to last that long.

At least for me, honesty and integrity are still the most important values one can possess.

I think everybody is skipping around the "100 launches" part. I would like to see if anybody's DCT here is going to run "100 launches" on their M3.

That's a nice thing to post.
And I'm sure if you broke your new car to the tune of a $20,000 repair bill, you'd march right into the dealership and tell them everything you did to break it.

Just look at all the posts in E90 where people have chipped their 335, broke it, and taken the chip out to repair it.

You might be the most honest person in the world for all I know, but this is the net, and those things are so easy to type.

A stock C6Z06 can run 127MPH in the 1/4 mile. A stock Viper can run 128MPH in the 1/4 mile. A stock ZR1 runs 130MPH in the 1/4 mile. Apparently the upper limit of the GTR is 128MPH in the 1/4 mile and then it will break. Hate to break it to you GTR huggers but any of the above cars with drag radials (otherwise 100% stock) can beat tie or beat this modded (maxed out) GTR. Now mod any of the above and well you get the picture LOL. I would bet my life that all three of the above cars with drag radials would run mid 10s all day long without any failure. I have owned two of them and know this first hand. The GTR's drivetrain is weak. LC is going to kill these cars. BTW I think the new 370Z is really really sweet looking car. IMO 370Z > GTR a Turbo 370Z >>> GTR.
