I've driven the 2012 CLS63 extensively and I'd say that no BMW or Audi can come close to it. The sounds, the looks, the comfort, the acceleration is other-worldly. I can't fault it. Of course it's a large car but it doesn't drive or feel like one. The automatic gearbox obviously can't shift as fast as the DCT in the M6, but it works well enough. It's also about $20k less than the M6 so that's a plus, and the M6 definitely doesn't seem like a $125k car. The interior of the Mercedes is less sporty than the M6's though but that's negligible IMO.

So three years later here's where I am. 2012 CLS63 & 2014 M6. Love these cars, but there still something special about the M3.

Just thought I'd drop by for old times sake

Cheers

How about pros and cons of the M3 vs M6? Thanks.

If you don't care too much for driving pleasure and rather cruise the cls is your car, otherwise the M6 is supperior. This isn't to say the CLS is slow by any means -

Tuned it's running 600 wheel HP and 660 wheel TQ. You just don't feel connected like you do in the M.

As far as the price goes, with the options I got 119 for the CLS, and 121 for the M6 (before taxes).

The major option that bumps up the price of the CLS being is the 7,800 optional performance package.

I track twice quarterly, and the M6 is a much better candidate
Thanks for the input. It doesn't seem like you can go wrong with either car, its just nice to get feedback as to how they compare by someone who drives them daily.

Hey what's up Saeed...nice M6! I haven't heard the roar of your CLS or seen you drifting around here lately...were you away at school?

In your absence I've been doing crazy drifts everytime I exit the 76 station (you know what I'm talking about)

By the way, Sharek's CLS63 makes like 900 wheel now so you have some catching up to do. lol

Love both rides. White M6 is very clean.

Do you still have the 08 M3? How does that thing look these days?

Why would you own both of those cars. They are practically the same thing.

Yes they are both gorgeous. Just seems like overkill.

Yes owning those two cars makes no sense to me. They drive exactly the same. Driven both. I would own an m3 and the cls or an m3 and an m6 or a Porsche NA model and either one. But whatever pleases each person I guess.

Those seats are reclined back gangsta style. The m6 I had driven had the adjustable upper back piece so it fit nicely. Those seem to be way reclined

Both beautiful cars, but very strange combination. Both are compromise cars, with the CLS not having the space of a full-fledged sedan, and the M6 not having the agility of a proper sporty coupe. One too small, the other too large.

Congrats, both cars look great. But I agree the M3 is something special the M6 does come close to the specialty of M cars.
