So the intake manifolds are different between the two kits? Is the VT1 manifold retrofit-able to the VT2 configuration?

I have had my VT-1 535 for about four months. As others have stated, it seems just like stock until you get it above about 4,500 RPMs. From there, it feels like you have a whole new level of power! I think it provides a reasonable pickup in the 0-60 MPH range, but there is no doubt that the big gain is in the 60 to 150 range! This thing pulls like a freight train, and it just keeps going all the way to the red line!
I can see that I will be looking for maximum width/traction in my next set of tires, but once you are beyond third gear traction is less of an problem. Also, despite an exceptionally hot summer, I have never had any issues with over-heating. I really feel like this kit brings the car to the level of power it really should have had from the factory. Even after four months with the kit, I really don't feel the need to add more power (VT-2 575 or 600). Since traction is really the biggest issue, more power is not that usable unless you can find places where you are able to drive 100mph to 180mph on a regular basis. Overall, I am thrilled with my decision, and I only wish I could find more opportunitites to really use what this beast can deliver! |
