I believe it's likely with some tuning and bolt ons you can push that to mid to high 500's, which is about as high as you can reliably get out of a supercharged S65 anyway. And even then the S55 will still own the S65 in terms of low end torque. And with less weight to move around, the S55 doesn't even need to match the power output of the S65 to achieve the same acceleration.

sure chances are they will be able to get some tuning out of this car. but analyzing the engine i would be surprised if this thing sees a 100HP gain with a tune + bolt ons. ONLY because of the size of the turbos and the 18PSI stock. i think the turbos of this car is going to be what holds it back.

they still haven't full "cracked" the F10 M5.

I am not trying to say the S65 is better for adding power. all i am saying is that people have high hopes for this engine (s55) when it could be a let down.

yes i understand there is more torque. personally i feel torque is overrated though when racing on a track or rolling start. where gearing and HP is more important. but thats a different debate.

Completely agree. Torque is for the red light racer and 1/4 mile guys but for what these cars are built to do such as road race, horsepower and gearing is where its at. I have no doubt that tune's will be available rather quickly for these cars but your points are valid. The M division is already pushing this engine hard, I don't think people are going to see gains like they do in an N54 with the S55.

Time to segue into the bore vs stroke debate lol. Horsepower wins races. (PERIOD)

I cannot accept paying 70k on a m4 when it sounds like it does. I would rather give Chevy my money and get a blown v8.

Lol then buy a Chevy! All you do is talk bad about this new engine and you haven't even given it a shot, nor have heard it in person.

"If you look at the dyno graphs, the F80 makes more power at every RPM than the E90. That means more power under the curve not just at peak rpm like the E90 does. Which means even at the same amount of horsepower, the F80 is faster."

Maybe be true for stock or bolt on E92; but that M4 is going to need new turbos to catch a charged E92. Than is it really worth the investment.

Charging my E92 was the best thing ever.

That's why I'm enjoying mine as long as I can (as well as 6MT). I wonder how many people realize that supercharged != N/A.

There is no doubt in my mind I will pick up another E92 M3 with 6MT(both previous cars were DCT) just because it was the last V8

Lol supercharging is cool, but been there done that. The perfect car to me is the one you really dont have to modify. Which is the GT3

I would own a 991 C2S right now instead of an E92 if I was 2 inches shorter.

Yeah I'm sure I'll end up with one but I couldn't pay MSRP for a car I wasn't 'smitten' with. Hopefully they will release a comp pack, some decent colors, and non hideous wheels in 2016 lol.

You're lucky then. I called probably 10 dealers including BMW David and no one was willing to do under MSRP. Some even wanted more.

That's what you get for trying to buy an all new hot model. Give it a year or two until the hype dies down and then the dealers will be begging you to take it off their hands.
