I hardwired my 9500ix in about 20 minutes with the hardwire kit. It really isn't hard at all. i tapped the cigarette lighter and then just screwed the ground wire to a chassis attached screw. The hardest part was just taking the center console by the shifter off to get to the back of the cigarette lighter.

I've had both the V1 and the 9500ix and personally I'm going back to a V1... I miss the arrows. but they're both great. just slightly different.

Useful feature that.

Traveling this afternoon on the highway. Trooper is heading in the same direction as me maybe a quarter mile (and many cars) behind. He's going instant on with oncoming cars, so rear arrow is active.

Second alert comes up, this time forward arrow, also Ka band. Passed the second trooper sitting in the median a short time after.

The V1 is awesome.

I did in my old M5, not now in the M3. I've got the coil properly trained to zig and zag and stay out of the way.

Lol I was gonna purchase a V1 today but I'm thinking to myself what's the point of getting one if you can get zapped by a laser? Even if it does detect it it's too late.. Unless I'm wrong?

You wrong. I've gotten laser activity warning on the V1 in enough time to adjust speed. Not like K/Ka band advanced notice, but many cars ahead.

Always going to be limitations, but for the vast majority of scenarios the V1 is fantastic.

Which 9500? The 9500ix is $500 (the fancy one is $550) and is a windshield mount like the V1. The 9500ci is $1700 but it is remote install -- the heads are outside, the controls and display are inside the cabin.

Really though, the 9500ix and V1 are very close in size.
