I may be a little bit pathetic

It is well below zero here, there is about 3 feet of snow on the ground, and I just got done washing my car. I also spray detailed, and waxed the front end/hood. I haven't driven it in about a week, and the build up of road salt was driving me nuts...I think the neighbors think I am nuts.

Well, it gave me a good excuse to slap on my new matte black kidney grills the wife got me for Christmas. Tomorrow I will install the matte black side gills

Ha ha, I wish. These garages in Germany are tiny, barely room for the car in there. I had to pull out of the garage to wash it. I used hot water from the tub, put it in buckets and then washed the car.

It was a PITA, water kept freezing to the car.

Haha! I hate that! When I wash my car in the winter, many times it does that. A very thin layer of ice forms, then you wipe it, and it gets slushy, then you have to clean that! It's a never ending cycle!

It's currently snowing now and I'm about to just give my wheels a quick rundown so the dirt stuff doesn't bake on.

Some may call you pathetic, but I'm sure on this forum, we're all out doing the same thing as you.

Haha. I don't blame you. I don't take the car out when it rains, or it under 35. People here in Texas can't drive in the snow.

Doesnt it need to be above 50 degrees for wax to adhere to the surface?

But yea.. you arent alone. I have done this but i tend to use a heated garage.

hahaha. You don't want anything like rain, Christmas shopping, or holiday traffic to excite the TX drivers...they are already terrible enough as is.
"whats that falling from the sky??" "I don't know, but we should all drive 20 under and make sure to swerve a lot!"

When you sign up to forums like this, you'll start to realize that what you once thought was pathetic regarding your car is just the norm and you are warmly embraced for it. Just try your best to stay warm.

Haha. I'm moving to Southern CA pretty soon so I'll be missing the snow. I never minded the snow, in fact I think it's pretty fun.

I don't mind driving in the snow, it's all the idiot drivers that stress me out...summer tires on rear wheel drive cars, and tailgaters.

And, when you do, you'll be wanting to surf, in January, amirite? Every northerners that visit during the winter all want to go see the Santa Monica & Venice beach and, when there, they want to surf, right then & there, and I'm going "wtf?" while wearing a down jacket. loooooool

Nah, I'll be driving it...I've been driving around in the TT lately.

The M3 does suprisingly well in the snow with winter tires.

Lived in soca for 7 years before moving to germany. can't say I miss very much. weather is nice, but only on the beach otherwise its a 100+F desert shared between 17 million people. The state is broke, can't afford to maintain its roads among many other things and keeps raising taxes. I do miss the cuisine though.

For OP, isn't there a steam pressure washer (heated) on the base nearby? that would certainly handle cleaning it. I just use griots waterless car wash in my garage, but it's heated with plenty of room around the cars though. maybe you should shop for a more suitable garage or house :-)

i remember taking a friend out in november bc he wanted to surf and snowboard on the same day. the surfing was okay except i should have worn the reef boots to keep the sand from freezing my feet. the snowboarding was horrible. all ice. here the snowboarding is great. plenty of places close by and awesome powder. if i want to surf, i would rather just fly back to hawaii with water you can actually see through (not a murky brown oil sludgy feel)
