Routine Service Question

I have an M3 2006. It has 51k mileage on it. The warranty ran out at 50k but i bought the 80k extended. Sunday my service engine light came on and wouldn't go off so i took it in today. They said they rebooted the system and it took care of the problem. Also they said i was due for a service so they went and did it for free. (Fluid top offs, valve adjustment, etc). They said it would have ran 1500.00. My question is when will my next service be and how much should i expect to pay??? 1500 seems like a lot to top off fluids and adjust valves. I've heard they will try and get you with the brakes and rotors on services. Anyway you guys know more about this than i do some help if you can. Thanks.
