No they don't. As long as its not a timed official event. I have tracked all of my M3's plenty times and I have never had issues. Most of the bigger dealers and the JHB BMW club host track days.

Well...anyhow, just discovered a cool feature with Harry's Lap Timer Grand Prix edition -- multi-cam. Tested it today with two iPhones -- quite impressive. I'd like to pair the data from the M Power App but...

I used that when we went to Ofest this year. Works well except you have to load the 2nd video file onto your iphone to get HLT to process it, so having 2 days worth of track time on HLT and on a GoPro all having to be processed by your phone stretches the storage limit of your phone.

And yes, we are officially in Fall as of last week, so we missed the "later this summer" release statement Those east coast boys will be putting their cars up for winter soon.

Well, I think so.

The app date is 3 October 2013; but the name is "BMW M Laptimer" which is a bit different than "BMW M Power App"

From the screen prints, it appears to be the same thing. I've downloaded it, but can't test at the moment (it requires being plugged-in to BMW Apps, and my M3 is at the dealership right now getting a combox replacement).

There seems to be more info on it available at the iPhone iTunes version than the iTunes Player version (PC/Mac).

Probably not in the Canadian store yet. Downloads in the US store just fine.

I was able to download, and can see the two test laps at the Maisach Driving Academy. I'll hook it up to the car and test on the commute home tonight. So excited to start trying this. May need to bring the big M3 out to the next local autox to really test it out.

V- Have you been looking on iTunes every day since June?

Note for users
To use BMW M Laptimer in your BMW, download the app from the App Store, connect your iPhone to a BMW via the USB connector or the snap-in adaptor, and launch the app. You will then be able to use your BMW’s iDrive controller and display to create recordings and use other features in the car.
Analysis of a drive is performed on the iPhone after creating a recording in your car.
