This is really slick! But why does BMW hate Android? No love...

Looks like it's time to investigate adding BMW Apps.

BMW hit this one out of the park. Never seen an app from any manufacturer this integrated and easy to use in collecting track data and then presenting that in such a nice looking and useful way. This alone justified the $250 for the BMW Apps option.

Holy cow, so this sounds like it can be retrofitted in any idrive car with BMW apps? Now this single app is a good reason to get BMW apps, even for non-iPhone users, just buy an old ipod and hook it up!

Future versions will have specific iPAD support too for even more useful views and displays.

Also Harrys lap timer does this and more for 30 bucks. So for thoss without BMW Apps or people who want anonymity from the BMW warranty department that app is for you.

I asked the ///M Studio guys about something like this when I was picking up my car in Germany last September, and they just kind of smiled, so I'm glad to see something coming out. Also glad I got the apps, since all we've gotten so far us useless facebook/twitter apps.
