Looking for professional reviews on M-DCT
Has anyone seen any articles reviewing the new tranny? I'm dying to read something about it since my car is prog'd for production in 3 weeks, not that I'm going to change my mind at this point.

If you want something good to read check out the latest 0-60 where they review a 6MT and DST Evo X side by side. Good review and gives some varying points of view. Bottom line from the article: 6MT is more fun but DST is faster.... I imagine same will be said of DCT...DCT for me though

Was going to post this same question myself today with a slightly differnt spin. When/where and from whom will we get the first drive report of M-DCT? The press release was nice, long and juicy but it was hardly a test drive. Given the huge successes of the VW/Audi/Bugatti/Mitsubishi systems I am not worried a bit about M-DCT but it sure will be nice to get some real details. Any predictions?

I know someone who had a testdrive on a dct-m3 already. We had a long chat about the DCT and finaly he gave me a brochure ( pretty useless, i knew this stuff already, but it looked nice ).
The only problem is, that this guy is working for bmw and i think, he explained and told me everything by (is "by" the correct word here?) the perspective of a bmw-dealer. He drove the M3 6MT and DKG(dct in english) both and was totaly enthused of the dct ( "itīs like launching a catapult" and so on...). He also told me, that he would be sure that the dct would grant better times on the track than the MT ( thats a crucial argument for the dct for me. I had been a manual-missionar till this chat and i m not very glad, that my "faith" in the mt startet to crumble. Today i m not sure if i order a mt or the dct... |
