18" M3 wheels

I just bought the 2010 BMW M3 coupe with the 19" wheels here in Germany. I'm looking at getting the M3 18" wheels for the winter. I really like the 18" M3 wheels and I have been trying to locate them with minor success. These wheels costs a fortune here in Germany.

Any input would be appreciated.

FYI - The 18s in Europe are slightly different from the US 18s. There are replicas available of the European design - just search. Other than that, I would try the classifieds and ebay. They are too expensive from BMW directly in my opinion.

You are looking at 1600-1800 USD for the wheels and/or wheels and tires. It depends on the seller obviously, but that is the general range.

I have the same setup for the winter and love it.

Any local classifieds where you could find a used set? Best way to go. Plenty for sale on this board's classified section but shipping would be outrageous. As Singletrack said, Euro 18s are different but you should still be able to run US 18s (just don't need the TPMS.)

I did not know that there was a difference between the US and German 18" wheels. My BMW is a US spec, bought here through a Military sponsored program. I guess I will search ebay and have them sent over here.

What tires are you using for the 18" winter setup?

You can run either wheel - they are both compatible. The spokes on the euro 18 are a little different. You can find pics with a search. Some people like the euro more, others the US. I prefer the euro personally, but have the US on my car.

I run Dunlop Wintersport M3s in 245/40-18 and 255/40-18 (rear).

Some slight styling differences and the barrel is a little different for the US model to allow for the placement of tire pressure monitoring sensors. If you have a US spec car, you would need US 18s and TPMS to avoid the warnings but both styles fit on any E9x M3. (TPMS won't fit on the Euro 18s.) I just assumed you had an EU model given your location.

Shipping over here isn't as bad as everybody thinks. I had a set of 20in tires and wheels shipped from Arizona and it cost around $200.00

+1. Sending 4 wheel/tire combos within the 48 CONUS costs $200. No way that rate applies to EU unless it takes two months to get there...

My rims cost $25 a piece through USPS to get here from Florida. Thinking a tire would cost about the same. I usually get first class mail in 5-8 days. I know a lot of folks that use tire rack. I prefer to go local for my tires cause of the warrenty.
