Wheel scratched, in bad mood now

Stupid carwash guy drove my new M3 into the carwash machine, and scratched the side metal really hard, the damage is about 3 inches long.
And I was hoping that the carwash place will help me to fix it, but I ended up paying full for the wash.
The carwash place is next to Target, Willow Grove.
Obviously, I would not go that place next time.

Is there any way to put the paint back?

1. Doesn't look bad. Any reputable wheel repair shop can make it look like it never happened. Probably cost you $100-200 or so.

2. Wash your own car. I learned this the hard way too. Unless you are going to a professional detail shop that regularly works on high end cars and exotics, your car will get scratched or damaged at some point. Those guys at the car washes get paid minimum wage and could care less about anyone's car. I used to get my previous car hand washed all the time at some of the nicer car washes and I've caught them reuse towels and rags that they dropped on the ground. I also notice they use the same chemical to clean my interior plastics, vinyl, leather, AND NAVIGATION SCREEN. They are completely incompetent when it comes to car care. You are better off paying your 12 year old neighbor kid to wash your car over a car wash.

You should never take your car to a car wash unless you dont give a shit about it. I wash my Evo and my M3. I take my old nissan frontier to the car wash.

Wheel repair place can fix that no problemo. Someone scratched my 335 wheels and I had it fixed, can't even tell. Don't worry.

when i first got my cls i took it to a car wash that had a serpintine belt drive thingi whatever they call it. left the car there for a "hand wash and wax" and went to have lunch. when i returned a few hours later i noticed that my car looked sooo sexy, asides the point i also noticed that two left wheels had seeeeerious damage, and not from a curb. when bringing to attention to carwash they denied every bit of it. i demanded they repair and cover all fees or they would hear from my lawyer. they played hardball but at the end of it just to prove a point made them order me to brand new amg wheels from mercedes for over 3k. the fact that my receipt clearly stated i paid for a hand wash and wax was the overwhelming factor. it might only be a couple hundred to repair but that fact that most washes try to get away clean just pissed me off. since then i just do it. you had every full right to get a free wash and repairs covered. just my 2 cents

I don't see why everyone is against automatic car washes so much?? I take mine all the time to these. As long as it's a touchless wash, I don't see how any damage can occur. There's two local ones I go to on a regular basis. One you drive in, stop/park, and the spray/soap moves around your car. The other one is belt driven with no rails. Been doing this since 2003 when I got my E46 M. Not a single bad incident. They're quick, easy, cheap, convenient and do a pretty good clean job. I also take the car to a pro cleaning shop for a wax twice a year (right before and after the winter season). Yes I'm that lazy to wash/wax my car, would rather pay a machine or someone to do it for me..
Sounds like the OP took it to a belt driven wash that grabs the wheels along a rail. Avoid those!

You're taking a lot of risk by paying for a car wash. It's like parking your $70k on a ghetto, busy street. This should be a lesson. Learn to love and care for your owned car is all there is in here.
