Anybody else in VPC limbo?

I've been stuck at the VPC in Georgia now for 10 days.
My CA says they have no idea when it will be transported to the dealer.

Was wondering if anybody else was experiencing similar...or if I'm just lucky?

I was under the impression that a dealership will delay a car at the prepcenter if they have a couple of more cars coming on the next ship so they can fill a truck going to their dealership? Not sure how true that is

Your sales person should be able to call VPC directly and get a status update. Mine did that with me on the line as well so I could hear it with my own ears. They should also have an estimated delivery date. The guy at VPC was able to tell us exactly what was happening with my car, where it was, and what the next steps were. It was all documented on his computer.

No...not an ED.

The response I got this morning was, as far as they can tell, it still hasnt been loaded on to a truck.
I suspect my CA isn't being very proactive in getting to the bottom of it...but I'm already being a bit of a pest by sending 2-3 inquiries a day.

Hopefully you aren't stuck at the VPC b/c they are repairing your car from damage during transit across the Atlantic.

+1, was thinking the same thing...damage incurred during transport and repair at VPC would be the most likely cause for delay....

That was my fear as well...reason I was curious if anybody else was delayed too. Was hoping to hear they're just backed up.
I really hate they dont even have to tell you if it's like...under 3% of the value of the car. Seems kinda shifty to me.
Oh well...hopefully that's not it.

What step are you on? Cause...it was prolly 2 weeks...maybe 3 before I went from scheduled for production to production. Then...prolly a week to get from factory to ship. From there...the boat I was on took a detour around a tropical storm, so the crossing took like 8 or 9 days. A day in port at Baltimore...then down to Brunswick. Got there on a Sat if I remember right, so the car didnt make it till VPC till Mon...and that's where I've been sitting since a week ago Mon.
My CA originally told me the vehicle was scheduled for deliver last Mon. Now...they have no estimate at all...and according to their computer...don't know why.

Yea my car is stuck at the VPC also and it arrived there on the Undine on the 20th of Ocotober. I talked to my CA today and he said that all the delays are due to the EPA causing issues regarding the window stickers with the disclosed mileage consumption numbers.....don't know what that means! Hopefully it's that and not a damaged vehicle!

That's somewhat bullshit. The dealer can see exactly what is happening to the car and in what stage it's in. If it's truly just waiting for a truck, then yes, he/she has no control.

What I've found out recently is some brands pay better than others. Porsche pays the trucker more than BMW out here, per car, so the truckers want to pick up Porsche over BMW if they can.

There's a work order process for repairs. If the car sits in the inspection work order for a while, then it's probably in need of a repair. Mine went in and out same-day, within a 3-4 hour window.

Well...I hope it's just something along those lines.
My CA promised to have more information for me today...we'll see how that goes.

Whelp...it appears it was "worst case".
The transport company damaged "a" door bad enough an entirely new one had to be sent from Germany.
The dealer swears up and down it'll be "perfect"...but they have no specifics at all as to how it occured. Which makes me nervous.

So...decision time. Take it with the new door...or reorder?

If it's just a door then I don't think its too big a problem. The VPC is pretty much an extension of the factory so if anyone can make it look brand new, its them.

Take it - as soon as you get behind the wheel and leave the dealership, you won't even think about the door being replaced. You'll be too busy watching your speed!

TOTAL ENVY!

I'm sure the VPC will do a fine job and it will be imperceptible. My car was on the Aegean Highway which matches your car's original timeframe, and I took delivery last Saturday. Weak that they couldn't tell you sooner.
