Haha, this modding has got to end....
Of the two, I am definitely a fan of BBS wheels. I love the LM-R. Sorry to say though, the AVS just doesn't do it for me. I think my current two prospects for aftermarket are the BBS CH Black line and then followed closely by the Advan RS. Although I'm currently really digging the oem 18s... I might not be able to move on from them... I have issues, I know.

I was actually dealing with Edmonton BMW for a month or two before I finally pulled the trigger on my M3. The parts rep was pretty gungho when the sales rep asked him to show me the Dinan 335i. I really want to see the guy that actually spends $80K on that when he can have an M3 instead. they were really pushing me to make an offer.

What'dye think Albert, mmmmm, sweet

But then you might as well get the Brembos too Albert

fwiw the 18" are a great looking set of rims, I like mine alot too. I've though about spanking second set for the shoulder season in the fall since winter never really gets mad till december at least. I just need a place to hide all the rims

ECU is at AA and getting programmed.

They will not modify RPM limiter.

I skipped the Launch Control too.

Should be back in Etown tomorrow.

Looking good for progress so far, AA has awesome customer service!!

Did you pull your ECU yourself? I don't know if I trust myself with such a vital piece of equipment.
I'm still weighing my options but I'm very tempted to go AA. Maybe pull the ECU, and send it off and put on pulleys. Go on vacation for a few days, come back home and put it back in. This way I don't feel so bad about having a car dead in the water for a week.

Pulling the ECU is no biggie. Anyone with minor mechanical skills can do it in 1/2 hr

It is not as bad as you think and they have complete step by step instructions on the AA website you can download and print.

That is what I did and gave it to the body shop.

Yeah, I just checked the AA Website and it definitely doesn't seem too bad. I wasn't even considering any of this till I saw the 50 whp possible with Bolt-ons? thread. Now it's starting to seem worthwhile. hehe

If turn around time is less then one business week, I'd be very interested in going with AA over the Dinan one. Plus at least with the AA, there seems to be a level of customization available. Seems like the Dinan one is a safe blanket software alternative.

I am shooting for 3 day turnaround so I'll let you know.

50 hp is prob what I'll shoot for with all the bolt ons, I have the Eisenmann Sport exhaust so that might be a little restrictive but I got the rest of the AA play toys.

I'm still on the fence about doing the launch control. But I guess the downside is that you can't turn it off. And I second the customer service.

The ECU remove is quite simple. I don't have much mechanical experience myself and I had no problems what so ever. A very straight forward guide to follow. The turn around time depends on how much your willing to spend on the shipping of the ECU (extra $200 maybe). 7 business days would be about the longest and 3 business days which I think is what Sparkyg went with, would be the quickest.

OK, kiddies...time to unleash this beast from the dealership tomorrow.

As I mentioned earlier, time to unveil the last secret ingredient to this new M3 - Eric from Eclipse Motors in Southern California is here to detail my M3 at Edmonton BMW tomorrow. He is going in bright and early to make the M sparkle. I told him I was going to let the guys here know and if anybody wants to stop by and talk detailing with him, he said he would be happy to chat.

For anyone not familiar with his work, check this out:

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=239832

I'll be coming in around 12:30pm. If any of you fellow modfools happen to make it there, I would look forward to meeting you.

Because the eibachs actually lower the car and it is less than half the price! Haha, looking at the dinan lowered cars I can't even tell the difference. Today the M is a 4X4 no longer! The eibachs look amazing, an even drop which really sets the car off! That stupid gap at the front is finally gone.

On another note the installer at Karmac did not feel comfortable doing the escort system He is going to try on a friends car before mine so I might have to go to FXaudio who sounds great but wants 1g and 2 days to install a system that can be done in a half a day by most it seems (aka pencilgeeks)!

Oh ya, but if I would have gotten them I would already be a Dinan car now!

I remember you mentioning something about that in a thread a while back! I should have recalled it! Think he wants to give my car a once over when he is done with your car? The guy does phenomenal work, I have seen some of his threads.

I may stop by to admire your car and meet you tomorrow, have a few things to take care of but I will do my best to be there. Theo was telling your long list of mods and you totally have us owned!

Checked out the link and his work looks pretty good. If my M wasn't in out of commission (ie ECU removed), I would of dropped by for a detail as well. I already have a few minor scuffs from fools who don't look before opening doors which be fixed I guess it will have to wait...
