The reason I don't have the switch on is because I tried it for awhile and it didn't really help the heat issue. I'll run it like this for a couple days to see how it goes and then run it with the switch on to see if there's a difference.

The switch should make a drastic difference because it cuts the rail voltage in half.

Been running the system pretty hard for about a week now with the SLB-Us installed. The heat problem seems to have been reduced enough that the amp no longer goes into thermal protect. The amp is still really hot after an hour of playing at high volume but not enough to shut it down. I'm going to try putting my trunk mat back over the floor covering again to see if the amp will shut down with the carpet on.

On another note, I think I'm getting the itch for more power!

Don't encourage bad habits! I've been itching for a Zuki 6 ch for a couple weeks now. Also saw FS threads for HD600/4 and HD750/1 which were tempting. Even an Audison LRx5.1k and Bitone combo sounds like an idea for a project. So many options!

My real problem is the a/d/s speakers are so inefficient it doesn't make good use of the power I have. Maybe I just need some more efficient speakers. I'd love to try a set of the Zapco ESB mids and tweeters but they're discontinued already.

If we had the room I was going to try Audison amps. The power would have been silly.

I'm trading my 1000.4 for a 600/4 now I just need to sell the 650.6 and accessories and pick up a 900/5.
