Or is it just me, but it looks like it just slowly starts to drop with just that one pass??

the guy starts flat and ends on an incline... dont freak out

It could be the car was going up a slight incline. My gas gauge goes down when I'm driving up hills.

I got 5mpg at the track. It's wild to go out for a 30 min session and burn 1/4 tank of gas. I've never actually seen it while its going down, though, that's pretty crazy.
