Clutch stop

Just installed a clutch stop on my car, significant difference. I notice quicker and smoother shift. Gotta get used to it for a day or so because it engages it real quick. Like it and recommend it.
I know cool story buuuuuut whatever. Thanks BMS, best way to spend 10 bucks and 2 min.

I got mine from this guy on ebay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/230519560074...84.m1497.l2649

Works great and easy to install. Just make sure to remove one washer before the install.

Quicker and smoother shifts would be incorrect. It just shortens the pedal throw.

Perhaps he's saying he can shift quicker and smoother thanks to the shortened pedal throw?

Is it really adjustable to your desired height?

I got the same one, great mod! Mine worked great as is. I guess it depends on your personal preference or how sensitive your clutch is.

I like it also. Just put one in. The ebay one. It could be quicker, but is not necessarily quicker. You could certainly regulate with your foot how far you push in the clutch and how fast you push in the clutch. Pushing it in any further or slower than necessary adds to the time to effect a shift. The stop is only about 1/2 inch thicker than the stock one, so we are not discussing a lot of extra travel here. What the stop is best for is helping you be more consistent when you are not completely concentrating.

I did the pedal spring at the same time and also like the more consistent pedal engagement. Like the stop, this does not necessarily make shifts any faster. It may help you be more consistent when you are not completely concentrating.

The effect may be that you shift faster once you no longer have to think about how far you depress the pedal and/or how it engages. If measured, I would expect the difference to be unmeasurable to barely measurable. However, if you measured the average speed of your shifts over thousands of shifts, I would not be surprised if you began shifting faster overall.

Smoothness wouldn't have changed unless he learned how to drive better. You could argue that you can shift quicker although by how much is really a small margin.

I just ordered mine via the ebay link. Will report back after it arrives.

I changed the spring in my older M3 to the new one and was happy with that.

Maybe the addition of this mod will make it that much better.

Clutch stop is a good mod. Removes the dead pedal space.
