Heat cycling r-comps

I'm about to buy my first set of r-compounds and was curious if it's worth the extra expense ($60) to have them heat cycled from discount fire direct? If it makes any difference, the tires wi be nitto nt01.

I had one set of NT01 heat cycled and it did not improve their life compared to my other sets that I tracked right off the bat. Pre heat cycling might be worth it on other r-comps or slicks, but in my experience, not for the NT01.

Can't add anything re the nitto's, but the BFG Gforce R1 compounds last a little longer getting them heat cycled. You can do almost the same thing heat cycling them at home. Put the tires on the car, drive 30-40 miles at speed (get them hot) on the interstate, then take them off the car and let them sit for 48 hours before using them.

NT-01s don't really need to be heat cycled, just drive the tire around town ~50 miles or so to scrub the molding wax off. Those tires are great out of the box.

Good advice--last season I first drove on my NT01s during an event at Lime Rock. Their very first miles were those initial morning track sessions. I thought I had made a horrible mistake--the tires were greasy, wobbly and terrifying. I wasn't thinking about the mold separation compound that needs to wear off first. By the afternoon they were great. So don't freak out if they feel terrible initially.

One additional question if I may.. How long can I expect these tires to last me? I intend on getting an alignment that will be more appropriate for the r-comp. and will also rotate the wheels either per day or maybe even every couple sessions if recommended.

I did about 8-10 track days last season with the NT01s and I think they still have some life left.

I also got 8-10 days out of mine before I had camber plates. With the increased camber, I hope I'll get 10-12 days.
