finally test drove the M3

When I test drove the Convertible and Coupe I really could not tell a major difference at all. Granted it was not an intense test drive and I am sure there is a difference, but for slightly less performance to get the top down was worth it. And yes, it has all the power and performance you'd want for a daily driver. Now, if you really wanted to track the car... it might make a bigger difference to you.
