HELP: E92 20" wheel fitment???

Hey guys!

I'm new to the board....picking up my JB E92 tomorrow

I need your help on picking sizes for 20" wheels/tires (I'm a relative NOOB when it comes to rims) It looks like people are going with 20 x 8.5-9 Front and 20 x 10.5-11 on the rear. What is the difference in terms of fit and looks?

I am going for the staggered look and I do not plan on dropping my car (I know that it would look 10000000x better if I did...but...) What would be a good size that would look good and not give me any issues with rubbing? Any suggestions or PICS (20" not lowered) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have gone for 9'x20" fronts & 10.5"x20" rears. I am going to run 295x25 on the rear as to not over step the radius of tyre to much and put the speedo out. Calculation on speedo with 295's will be around 62.5mph when speedo is showing 60mph.

Fronts I am going for 255x30, I don't want to go to wide on the fronts otherwise to much tracking will occur.

I have heard that you can go 9.5" fronts & 11" rears and run 315's on the rears but radius would put your speedo way out.

The wider the wheels and the tires the more understeer they will induce. Some people simply want the widest wheels & tires possible so they would go with something like 20x9 in the front and 20x11 rear. If you're just looking for a staggered setup in 20's I would go with 20x8.5 in the front and 20x10 rear. Another point is that you won't want to run bigger wheels on small widths because it will affect the car's handling as well as ride (e.g. 20x8 all around).

Here's a set of 20" Vorsteiner 3 piece forged wheels on an E92 M3 for your viewing pleasure.

Here are a couple of pics of 20" wheels that I used to have on my car. Mine is 8.5" and 10" in the front. (Lemme know if you happened to be interested as I'm selling)

I went with:

20x8.5 29ET (34ET rim 5mm spacer)
245/30-20
20x10 22ET
275/30-20

The ride seems the same as on 19's and the stock handling properties are still intact. The 275's in the rear seem to look really good in back with out being cartoonish.

Man looks nice, you would pleased.

Yeh, I have finally ordered Pirelli PZero's 255x30x20" for the fronts and 295x25x20" for the rears. My speedo will be about 2.5mph higher than the 60mph showing on the dial.
