Hissing noise when shutting off engine
Is this normal? Everytime I shut off the engine it makes a few hisses. I'm assuming this is normal engine stuff right?

It is most likely because of AC. Drive one time without AC on and see if it makes the same noise. I think we have a million threads about this lol

My e36 M3 used to do that with a cold air intake, which amplifies the noise. It's the air being released from the intake a second after engine is shut down. It's a quick hiss so if your describing a hissing sound that lasts for awhile than its not that. Could be a snake in your car.

Welcome. Don't take offense, it's all in good fun.
My M3 makes a lot of wierd noises, both starting up and shutting down. It's not a Lexus, and for that I am truly grateful. As to your particular car, diagnosing "wierd noises" is next to impossible over the internet, which ought to be apparent if you stop and think about it. Is your car under warranty? If so, then stop by your friendly BMW SA and grab a cup of coffee while he or she listens to your car shut down. No coverage? Try to find a good indy, perhaps using bimrs.org to locate a shop near you that specializes in BMWs. Good luck.
