So shouldn't we have heard something about the Factory M3 Performance exhaust by now?

UPDATE: Exhaust Clip, Photos, and Details:

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=437688

If I recall BMW NA? was supposed to release information regarding the BMW M performance catalog additions including the new exhaust for September... Being that we haven't heard anything is it safe to assume this idea was dropped? Or did I miss something?

It's August 31st dude???

And no, it's not "safe to assume this idea was dropped" - they release it when they feel like it, it's BMW, even the BMW FS lease rates come out 2-3 days after the start of the month.

The release said it would be available in September, so give it a few more weeks.

Did you ever consider that September could mean Sept. 31 and they'd still be on time? Even if they did say Sept 1 there's always the lag in getting information out, plus they could change the date at any time. AFAIK there's no obligation for them to release it by a certain date. Just chill out for a bit. Either they will release the info or they'll say they dropped it.

Well considering it is a considerable offering from BMW I was hoping they would be a little more up-front and timely with the information, but like you said maybe not.

Yes, E9X M3. This exhaust may make the difference between me getting a M3 vs a Z06. In my mind, for what I need/want, it is this close.

no. its a performance exhaust and just like all their performance items you have to buy them separate. i am just as eager to hear about this as this car is far too quite.

Well still, if I can get it through BMW then I'm alright...I really don't feel like looking at all the different after market exhausts and choosing one. This would make it much easier.

They don't care, never have. They release stuff when they feel like it.

Why would a BMW performance exhaust influence your decision? Makes zero sense. The stock E9x M3 is better in every which way than that fiberglass pos and there are already 40+ exhausts for this car, some of which are and will probably still be better than the OEM BMW performance system.

...but it might be available to put on the build sheet, so you can finance it... (the way some perf parts are available on the 1/3 series).

So we saw some pictures of it back in September I think... what happened to this this thing? I've not heard anything else about it. Anyone know anything?

Thanks! Forgot to check that one. Man... 4.3k retail for a muffler is pretty high for a BMW.

I just checked with the local dealer and they wanted like $5600 for the exhaust. I laughed and left. I guess it is time for an Eisenmann.

My thoughts exactly. Sport...or...race?
