Fair deal? '08 E92, 60k miles, $30k
Found this '08 e92 on carvana: https://www.carvana.com/search/20000...mw-m3-coupe-2d
It appears to be in good shape but the price feels about $3-4k too high. it has ZERO features (no navigation, premium, tech, etc. packages) and they claim 2 owners. However, if you look at the carfax, it was actually a manufacturer's vehicle for 3k miles before being sold at auction. i called bmw and they couldn't give me info on what it was used for under their ownership. I asked if it was possibly used at a M experience center and they said it's 'certainly possible'. i feel like there are too many points against this car at this price point. they are not negotiable. too bad, ssii w/ cf roof is exactly what i'm looking for. what're your thoughts? |

That price seems high for a 2008 M3 that is effectively a stripper. I know some people like fewer options, but I wouldn't pay $30k for that car.

that's a good eye. Somebody was having fun with this car. It's the exact setup I'm looking for, but I am a bit skeptical since the car was returned on their 7 day no questions policy.

Go see the car, compare it to what others are going for, if it's in better condition and has lower miles that ones going for $25k then you have your answer, it's upto you if it's worth it or not. IMO options mean nothing at this age and price/point. Some would prefer a stripper.

This is considered a unicorn. This would essentially be any M enthusiast's most favorable. The quantity of these unicorns is extremely low, hence why the price is driven higher than anticipated.

I love how you guys consider a baseline, no options, bottom of the line M3 a unicorn lol. That is way overpriced.

I love how you consider something that had the lowest production number throughout the duration of e9x M3 production not a unicorn. Just because it is loaded with a bunch of overly priced features that BMW offer, it doesn't mean the car is rare. On the contrary, a minimal featured BMW with no Navi, no heated seat, no iDrive, doesn't mean that it isn't rare, or a unicorn.

it is a good deal. it needs tires soon and valve cover gaskets replaced, so i was able to shave a good bit of what the owner asked. these issues were discovered via PPI so always be sure to have one done independently before purchasing!
