Cylinder spacing: 91mm

This is why a V6 is so common, I6 have more packaging issues because greater bore means an already long engine will be even longer. Purists may not like the idea but a V6 M3 might be able to locate the engine's weight closer to the middle of the car.

Best regards,

Very odd, that means the maximum displacement of the new M3 (based on the accuracy of the prior information that the E46 M3 cylinder wall thickness between cylinders could not get any smaller) is also 3.245l. That really does not seem like enough for the power we are hearing about.

Swamp2, I think they are counting on being able to advance turbo tech rather quickly. I think what we've seen so far is just the tip of the iceberg.

I hope the next M3 has a 2.5 liter 455 hp engine in a 3000 lb car that does 0-60 in 3 seconds. Then I want to see what all of you says about the 2 ton V8 290 torque E9X lol.

Yeah. I hope the next M3 is faster than a Bugatti Veyron Driving off the end of the Space Shuttle.

That'll show you punks! Glad I bought the 335i instead!

rofl

I hope it runs on unicorn farts and the only thing that comes out of the exhaust is rainbows

All I care about is that it's as much fun as the E90. They almost screwed up and made the E90 less fun than the E46, the engine was the only thing that saved it IMO.

But yet this "V8 290 torque E9X lol" is still good enough to spank your 335, maybe because of the better delivery of that torque plus the 400+ hp. Now that's LOL.

All your posts on this topic here and on the E90 posts regarding the M3 make you sound bitter and immature for some reason. Your ex-gf's new boyfriend owns a M3 or something? It's o.k. buddy, there's always someone out there with a better toy, just be satisfied with what you have and be happy.

Oh, BTW, the 335d has 425lbs ft of tq and 0-60 of ~ 6 sec so your point is nothing short of grasping at straws. Go learn how tq is delivered on this M3 vs other cars...tons of good info about this on these boards.

Must be, at 3 or 3.2 l the turbo system is going to have to be pretty special to BOTH have minimal lag and high peak hp.

see that's the problem with mocking an m3 when you drive an 335i... no matter what you argue your car is always inferior.

Deniz sounds like one of those young Eastern European boys that bought a salvage title 335i and now brags, little do we know, his car probably hops when he locks his steering wheel or some shit.

lol.

To learn the secret of Deniz1210's M3 envy, just look up his first post. I linked it before but the moderator took down my post. Probably will do it again with this post, who knows.

All i know, every post by Deniz1210 is a cover of his deep insecurity of buying the 335 over the M3.

Let's get back on topic to the N55 variant for the new M3.

I'm interested to see what kind of engine setup they go with as well. They've got a lot more competition now than they did when they first released the M3. I think people are also too quick to stick the GT-R in the same category as the M3, when the GT-R is actually more like $95k because of the required maintenance.

For $58k, the M3 seems like a great deal -- it's only going to get better from the increased competition. Very exciting.

Stand by for the boycotters thread.
i just test drove the m3 e90 at alhambra. the driver only let me drive for 5 minutes in a 35mph zone. i obviously did not test drive the car enough, but i will for sure hold off for the f3x. imo, there is no point in spending 70-80 grand for a car that will be outdated in 1-2 yrs. soooo, plz put me down the a list of 100% going to buy the new f3x series.
