Yep I got it. This shit sucks. I've been living off IV bags for the last 3 days. No food in 3 days. FML!!

The coughing is the worse part. Holding food in is impossible.

Have you got through the sweats part yet?
I was down for 3 and 1/2 weeks about 5 years ago with it,
sleep,sleep, and more sleep.

had for nearly 9 months before it got diagnosed, after several doctors. im into bodybuilding, so every time i would feel better i would workout, and sick again. $5 dollar bottle of cheap steroid prescription from doctor and back to 100%. As said earlier in the thread, the worst part is the epic fever and the sweats. Good luck OP and remember, take it easy and get LOTS of sleep.

I lost 30 lbs when I had mono. It was so bad I had to withdrawl from school for a semester. It's been over 5 years and I still wake up feeling tired no matter if I sleep 3 hours or 16. I don't know if that's a after effect of it or not, but I miss being able to get a good night sleep.

I had it bad for a month, it's one of the worst things you can get. I do think it lingers on as EBV in many cases.

sry to hear that man. i got mono like a month after i got back from thailand and after reading how symptoms don't show for like 1-2 months, i knew i got it from thailand. karma got me on that one...

worst part is not being able to swallow anything and having trouble sleeping with dry mouth. my throat was so inflamed i had difficulty drinking water. i did lose 15lbs when i did have it though. i didn't have the sweats or fevers just extreme inflammation of throat.

mine only lasted 3 weeks. i drank a shit ton of water and still went to the gym and did light weights (something about exploding an organ if you over stress yourself) and stayed in sauna and steam room for hours which def imo helped.

we are blood bros now as mono stays in your blood stream for life . get well.

Hopefully you can eat, I couldn't everything in my mouth tasted like acid so my doctor prescribed me lydocaine <sp> to numb everything in mouth.that did not help as it felt worse after doing that.
I went from 215 to 178 lbs in less than a month, I thought I was dying.

I rather have mono than food poisoning...i once had food poisoning that lasted almost 2 weeks, lost 20 lbs...and completely out of energy, i bet if i got into a fight with a midget i'd gotten beat up

Dude i can't eat anything. My Stomach medication and all. I go to the doctor to get pumped full of IV so I don't get to dehydrated.

Damn seems like you guys had this really badly

I went to the doctor with really swollen glands in my neck and usual symptoms and the first thing she said to me was : "I'm 100% sure it's not mono, I believe it might be HIV or toxoplasmosis we'll need to draw some blood". Was stunned throughout the rest of the day.The next day she calls me saying it's 100% mono in my blood.. FFFFUUUUUU

Luckily only took me 3 weeks to get rid of it but I was sweating like a pig in my sleep and my throat just clogged up completely at times. After about 2 weeks I felt more active than I ever had in the past year (caught up on sleep I guess ) and my libido shot up aswell, cf gf & kitchentable
