Last date to order 2013 e92 M3

I am in the market and my family will be purchasing my current E90 for a younger sibling next June. Could I still throw in my 2013 order right before the cutoff? Or is that generally not a good idea?

Also, do you all think dealers would have many on the lot being the last year?

Best,

Zach

My local dealer said the 2013's will be order-only, none on the lot. Not sure if this applies to other dealerships.

I don't know BMW order/run details very well but we've already seen a run on the ED allocations and now supposedly a reluctance from dealerships to process more ED allocations due to process, profit or other issues. BMW stated earlier in the year that they would make these into Spring of '13 but they didn't state to what volumes. I wouldn't wait.

Currently the demand for the last year M3 has been very healthy. Golfrr from Steve Thomas said a few weeks ago the allocations have been going faster than they've seen before.

My dealer has also seen a rush for the last V8 and are also not planning on ordering dealer stock.

Every dealer gets stock cars. It's just that dealers fill those stock cars with customer orders. My dealer has 1 stock car on order but guaranteed that will turn in to a customers sold car.

I have been hearing from my dealer that demand has been strong. My only hesitation is a check for my car for my younger sibling. (My parents decided to buy my car instead of another for him) I could go ahead, but I would rather put my car's worth into the new car.

Maybe I will place my order at Christmas. The problem is my younger sibling can't drive until next fall. (Lucky kid to get my car!) so it will sit. I guess I will take the chance nearing Christmas. I'm sure none will be left on lots.

Thanks for the help all.

BMW is also going to make fewer M3's for MY13 than in years past - something to consider

How do you know this. MY2012 seems to be the shortest.

I agree, but I was told the same by a dealer that's out of the area as well.

Looks like next June is cut off. However, most will all be gone months before that. My dealer quoted me $76k for a 2013 M3 AW/Black. Nav/Competition and premium lol
