Recommended/ reliable helmet online store.

Greetings! Newbie on tracking here. Can anyone recommend a reliable online store where I can buy a full face helmet for the track. I'm looking at HJC but not sure which online store is better. If there's a store I can go to it'll be better trying the fit a helmet in person. I live in central NJ. Thanks!

You really want to have a local store to try on a helmet and make sure that it fits YOU. Different manufacturers make different shapes - which fit better on one person's head more than another. You also need fitting assistance. You cannot get either of those important things from an online buy.

I've purchased 2 helmets, seat harness, gloves and other stuff from soloracer . com and I've done my research and for the most part the cheapest around. At the website, there are charts for measurements depending on the brand of helmet you chose and its simple. He also has packages which is great!

I just purchased from Apex Performance and actually sent the medium back for a large. No restock, but I had to pay about $35 in shipping both ways.

OG Racing I believe has a similar deal.

BTW...just bought a Stilo ST4W - love it!

Another thumbs up for soloracer. There was an issue with my helmet and they corrected with good communication and no hassle. Prices are excellent too.

+1 for saferacer. I never tried on a helmet and the sizing charts on SR were accurate. I'm almost certain they allow returns if it doesn't fit too. Depending on the helmet you're after, it can be hard to find local shops with it in stock.

Go to Stable Energies in NJ, they have a large # of helmets in stock and they're extremely helpful. Nothing beats trying helmets in person, everybody's melon is a bit different!

I used Apex Performance for the last couple and had a great experience. Best price I could find (both are Arai - GP6 and GP Jet) and they went out of their way to find the GP6 which was in dhort supply. Also offered a fantastic deal on Stilo. Real enthusiasts looking to build good customer relationships.

Once you find your size/brand give them a try.
