After dumping so much $$ on my 'ol E36 M3, it left with a notion that modding is an investment that you'll never retrieve back. Thus, now a days, slight modding can achieve the desired look without breaking the bank.

I just started modding my car a couple months ago, after turning it into a weekend car after a couple years of DD, and I am just about at $15k spend on mods w/installation. Damn, man I thought I was under $8k in mods until I added up all the costs. I still have tons of parts uninstalled sitting in my garage waiting for the right time.

I really hoped to get into a 997 gt3 within the next few years. I better stop here.
I took my eisenmann race off the m3 about a week ago and I really miss it. Stock is so tame!

I retract my comment in this thread, the eisenmann is going back on tomorrow.

Hi, my name is sycd, I am a mod addict.

When I first saw this forum I thought spending so much on mods was a little cookoo for coconuts,
then I got the SC and went to the track and that's all she wrote... over 25k now, after coilovers
I should be done, ya right... lol

The grass truly is greener on the other side!

If you pick up a gtr/Lamborghini/or whatever is that price range of your hooked up M3, what makes you think you won't hook up the gtr. Then you'll be buying a used gtr at 70k + all the mods. Then you'll just say damn all that money I spent I couldn't of bought a Ferrari.

I had FBO + Meth E92 N55 and could not hang with stock M3's on the top end. They might get you from a dig but you should be able to walk away on top easy

That's exactly what he had, and we did a couple of 60-115ish runs and he easily beat me.

I think it's great that people still have the car bug. I have never modified my street car because I have pouring cash into my racecars. You have to follow the racing series rule book (well sort of , but there is nothing in the rules that caps how much money you can spend! I hope my kid won't mind going to the local community college.
