Supersprint Race vs Supersprint Race F1 difference?

I feel like I've been searching and getting varying responses to this. Does anyone know which of these two systems is the louder, more drone-y one? It will be just an axle-back system for now, connected to my stock x-pipe.

The description on the Turner Motorsports link for the F1 says the following: "The Supersprint "F1 Race" mufflers are a more dramatic sound than the standard Race muffler design."

However, this post from Supersprint themselves (albeit on the older side) seems to indicate the opposite: https://www.m3post.com/forums/showpo...8&postcount=18

Specifically, this post claims:

"The ideal configuration for an aggressive sound and very little drone is our new F1 Race mufflers. We integrated a “Helmolthz” resonator into the mufflers’ internals, which gives us the ability to reflect and cancel some frequencies depending on the structure of pipes and chambers. The F1 Race mufflers reduce the rpm range and the decibel levels of the drone and also give an intoxicating sound at high RPM!"

Can someone shed some light on which system is more refined/less drone-y?

BTW the Race setup is about $1000 cheaper than both the Performance and Race F1 systems online which is curious.

Thanks in advance!

I had for an extremely short time the SuperSprint Race (non-F1) on my M3 with primary cats bypassed. The drone was so bad that I didn't go further than around the block and back.

I also have the 2-pipe mod OEM system and the BMW performance mufflers, both of which sound 1000x better and without drone.

I've read that a lot about anything beyond an axle-back setup for the Race (non F1). Haven't been able to find much at all for people that have the F1 setup in an axle-back only, though the videos of a full F1 setup do seem quite loud too (understandably).

That's rather surprising. I had SS Race + test pipes for almost two years and never felt the drone was intrusive at all, let alone intolerable. There are much louder setups out there for axle back + test pipes combos.

I have race F1. They sound amazing. More exotic than most and no drone. Just rear section and everything else is stock. Sedan.

I pass Laguna Seca dB requirement.

How about freeway roadtrip volume? I'm running catless with ACM modded OE muffler. It sounds great! Doesn't drone, but is LOUD enough you have to "talk over it" and/or turn up the tunes.

No not an issue.

Bat-Signal derbo

Also has the F1. Sounds good on the outside. I think volume may be close to Race levels, but it should drone less given the helmholtz resonators.

I'm the same setup as Barney.

SS F1 with stock x pipe. I also passed Laguna Seca sound while full throttle.

I will note there is drone under 2500 rpm. It only occurs when you are accelerating with heavy throttle and it is far from the crazy loud setups. It's very tolerable. I think it's loud enough to hear with my helmet on, but not overly loud to blow sound and the neighborhood. Freeway speeds are above 2.5k RPM and do not have drone. You can enjoy a conversation without raising your voice.

SS Race, test pipes, AFE air filter, and Epic tune. Above 3k its sweet. Below 3k and higher gears can be a bitch especially with a passenger in the car. But, its the best looking exhaust for this car, and Supersprint quality is hard to beat. The polished stainless steel looks money too. Ignore the whistling noise in the background, pulleys needed replacement when i recorded this video, and it's before I did underdrive pulleys. They are worth their own weight, if you don't already have them.

Is there a lot of drone? Like is it comfy driving for hours on end on the highway?

I have the full setup SS F1, HFC, mid section with resonator and F1 Race Mufflers

Sound is pur porn when you open throttles bodies and near quiet like OEM at stabilized speeds

I do mountain and highways drivings, with this setup you could do 4 or 6 hour highway journeys without any problems

Setup is expensive but top class

Its not overly obnoxious. I've learned to over come it or just drop down a gear. It' not like a Gintani exhaust.

Thumbs down Suspersprint Fail

UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Direct ordered from SS, a set of F1 Race axle-back.

After 16 days to fab, a 9-day US Customs clearance delay due to SS incomplete, inaccurate, documentation...the f'in left side shows up with foreign object trapped inside canister.

Hard to believe the fabricators, QA, and packing personnel could miss the unmistakable rattling with ANY handling/movement.
[wish upload here were possible to hear it]

Attempts to dislodge unsuccessful; tried to ‘shake out’, also used automotive magnetic pick-up tool.
Whatever it is rolls, rattles, clanks around...unusable

Wrote SS an email with pic and audio file. Awaiting response and effort by SS to remedy...Epic fail & disappointment

Oh BTW - - these don't fit F1s either:
