Monte Carlo - not the colour

Last Sunday for lack of anything better to do I drove down to Monte Carlo. There were lots of Lamborghini"s Ferrari's, Bentleys AMG M-B's ad even some frosted Smart cars and dull Citroens and such. I did not see any M's (5' and 66's included).

I thought nothing of it, until people started taking pictures of my M3. It was warm and so I was driving with the windows rolled down and people asked me to rev the engine so that they could record the sound with their DSLR's.

For an M3 to be photographed the same way as a Ferrari 458 is a change.

I admit that it was a fun to go through the tunnel with little traffic, the windows down and to listen to the M3's tone.

Guess it all depends on where you live/drive. I barely get a second look in my M3.

I'll be in Monte Carlo in 3 weeks on vacation. My Monte Carlo M3 will have to stay home

Monte Carlo is one of those places where you clearly need to be driving super or hyper cars to be getting attention from the general public. Few years ago I drove there in 997 C2S and felt like a peasant

I have been very surprised at what a head turner my M3 has been. One time, a 535 owner actually followed me into a parking lot specifically to see my car up close. As soon as he looked at it, and asked me a few questions, etc, he left and went on his way. Also lots of stares on the roadways, lots of , and generally positive comments.

I don't think this type of interaction would happen in a Ferrari or Lamborghini. Most people would simply be too intimidated by a car like that to say or do anything. They would certainly stare, but that's it. The M3, while still a high end performance car, is one that is at least within the realm of many people's reality. This makes the owners approachable.

LOL... That's what I was just thinking. I figured you'd barely catch attention in a Veyron out in Monaco.

Anyways, pics please.

It's the same when I was down is South Beach a while back. Saw 24 Bentley Continental GT's in 3 days (yes, I actually counted).

And not a single Honda Accord !!!
