Smoker's Package --- Delete

Has anyone ordered the car without this option (441 from the other posts)? Are there any pictures or good information about if this is really something you can remove from the car in the US and what replacement options exist (and what do they look like)?

Thanks

I didn't think it came with a smokers package? What is it replaced with?

The ashtrays, expecially the front one, function fine as coin and small object trays. I did see a company that advertised replacements, but I'll have to find the info again.

I asked my CA for this... He looked into it and the smoker package deletion is not a US option..

How many people still smoke in high end cars like the M3 these days, and more to the point in the back seat? BMW needs to get with the times..

How are you supposed to plug in your radar detector with the smoker's package?

See post for a sunglass conversion. In the interim you can pull the ashtray out and make a larger coin holder since the underlying assembly has no holes in it

I have this for my 335i. It is a little pricey for what it is but it holds a post it pad and will hold some parking passes as well. The pen is small and I never really use it. I will move it to the M3 eventually.

As far as the sunglasses tray, it looks like it is small. Anyone know if it will hold a pair of aviators?

Sorry, off topic...
AwesomeM3, I was at Desimone yesterday to look at the M3. There was an Interlagos Blue M3 coupe being delivered to a client. Thought you'd like to know that there is another IB in the area

Thanks for the info! I think that IB M3 was the demo, and it has 18's and the moonroof (I have 19's and CF roof). I figured it would be sold eventually. I wonder if DeSimone discounted it.

Thanks!

Sounds like deleting it is more trouble than it's worth.

I ordered it without the smokers package and have no regrets there.
For those who need 12v the plug has been moved under the armrest.
The front tray is perfect for a pair of sunglasses.

I'd have no doubts about removing the smoker option, unless you really need that 12v up front and like to clutter up your car with ugly wires.

Hey, watch your mouth. Wires aren't ugly. Some of us geeks here consider wires in the cockpit our first mod.

After driving this car you will want a smoke and likely turn over and go to sleep.
