Jerez black compared to jet black!

if you want to see what the difference is between jerez black and jet black go to: http://www.bmw.com/com/en/index_highend.html
Once you have the M3 model up to view with the seperate colors click on black and then Jerez so they are fully loaded in your browser.

next rotate the M3 completely to the side view so the refection is predominate and very visable in contrast.

switch between the two colors and notice the difference in the reflection.

What you will see is a blue or greenish hue in the black similar to carbon schwartz like in the E46.

Give it a shot guys I am working with a crappy screen and I could tell a difference what can you guys see?

Yeah there's a difference but.....................you wouldn't want to make a purchase decision based on a computer simulated color. They are notorious for NOT being true indicators by any means of the real color.....

Only real way is to start with online high res pics in the sun and shade and then an actual look at the color on the vehicle in the flesh............

Just my 2 cents and IMHO..........

Jerez Black

If you want to really see what Jerez Black is "made" of, view E90FLEET's 04-03-2007 @ 11:46 am response. Use the "search" tool in red highlight above - Jerez Black - its all there.

Yesterday I got to see a Jerez Black and Jet Black car outside in the sunlight side by side. From further than 10' away it's just about impossible to tell the two apart. Being closer just means it's possible to tell them apart. To me, Jerez Black looked almost dull unless I hit the right angle and could see the very (very, very) dark blue/purple color (which did not make me go WOW even when I could see it because it's such a dark blue/purple). I think most people most of the time will just think it's a very slightly dull/dirty version of Jet Black. From further away it just looks a tiny bit more dull than the Jet Black.

I was originally going to get Jerez Black but I saw one car for a long time (different day) in the shade (couldn't see much difference between that and Jet Black) and then very, very briefly in the sun (pulling away from 20' away) and couldn't see the difference. That and $500 was enough to convince me to go with Jet Black. Yesterday convinced me I'd made the right choice regardless of cost as the weather was perfect and both cars were just sitting in the sun with all the time in the world to compare the two.

I do not notice a lot of metal flake in the Jarez color to hide many of the "swirls" commented on by so many posters as a problem with Jet Black. I'm no color guy so I only "think" I understand what they are talking about.

IMO, bottom line is you have to be a very, very discriminating and picky color guy to want Jerez Black. For $500 more the good angles should outweigh the bad and I don't think they do.

I'm sure there are a lot of Jerez lovers out there that think I'm an idiot. I'll agree completely and only state that this is my opinion and I really don't think I can support the conclusions any other way. Jerez lovers, please excuse me for being an color idiot!

I saw one jet black, but haven't seen the jerez yet...I don't know about the jerez black, but the jet black is so easy to get the hand touch paint...I hope the jerez black will be better...

both look great - jet black is deep dark black and Jerez is dark metallic midnight blue. sort of like carbon black on the M5.

The Jerez black is quite a unique and interesting color. At night the car looks black, however under the sun or light at certain angles you see a deep blue and sometimes a purple hue.
